12w3d pregnant and sick!!

Hey guys........... I have a really bad cold.  I can't stop sneezing, runny nose and headaches.  I'm 12w+ pregnant and I don't want to hurt the baby.  What cn I take.  Can I drink a decaf Lipton tea?  Please help.  I would call my doctor but one he's office is closed still and 2) you guys answer much faster! Lol.  Any advice would be great!!

I was wicked sick too with a nasty cold and I was told only benadryl and tylenol if ABSOLUTELY needed but, like justice said, decaf tea, steam/humidifier, lots of water, some vicks and some rest were best.  I toughed it out but it was sooooo hard!

I was sooooo sick when i first got preggo, I think it was around 11 weeks and the dr told me NOT TO TAKE ANYTHING but some cafeen (sp) free tea with a tiny bit of honey and cough drops... and to rub some vicks on my feet LOL and chest.... I know every dr has different opinions on what is safe so I would call your doc and see what he says.... I know after i got out of my first trimester (now 21 weeks) he said i could take benadryl

I was also down with it last week...BAD 8 days I felt like death! I did call my doc. and he said it was ok to take Tylenol Cold. Also Theraflu, Benadryl,andChloraseptic throat spray. Not all at once of course, I guess just whatever fits your symptoms best, Good Luck I hope you feel better soon.

You can take benadryl for the allergy symptoms, sudafed for nasal congestion, tylenol for pain or fever, and robitussin for cough. If you prefer to use cough drops then halls is okay. There is another one that works really good (cough drop) it numbs your throat, I think it is called cepacol. It comes in a spray and a drop. There are other meds that you can take I have a list at home, but I had been having cold like symptoms and this is what I had been taking.
