14 weeks and no fetus
On 3May2009 we found out we are expecting out 3rd child--4wks preg! Very excited. My hubby is military and we were 3 wks away from PCSing (moving to another military post) and the hospital where we were couldn't get me in for a check up til 9June. I would obviously be moved by then. They told me to wait til I got to my new post and get seen then. They gave me prenatal vits. So we got moved and I got an appt......not til 13July--14 wks preg!! I was upset it was going to take so long but there was nothing I could do. So I went in for my check up and had the normal pap done and the dr checked for the heart beat, and couldn't find it. They did an u/s and said I had a tilted uterus (which I didn't have with my other 2 kids--now 4 and 2). During the u/s they only saw a sac and no baby. they said the sac was measuring 7 wks? I don't understand at all...LMP 3April2009. I have had no bleeding, no cramping. I have outgrown my clothes and every possible preg symptom. I had my HcG levels checked on the 13th and then today. I was told they had dropped but don't know the numbers. I was told my body would expell or naturally miscarry in 2 wks. Is there any hope? She said I had what's called a blighted ovum. Has anyone else heard of this or had a good outcome? We are going in friday to test HcG again and then getting a second opinon later on. I am praying and holding on to a little bit of hope. Any info is appreciated! BTW--I am Rh- and I don't know if that has anything to do with my HcG levels or not. Thank you all!
Ok this is going to sound super gross and i'm sorry to gross anyone out but....the last few days I've been bleeding pretty heavy(not soaking a pad an hour) and when I go to the bathroom there is thick mucous stuff that hangs from me. I have to get toliet paper sometimes and touch the mucous with it and start turning the toilet paper so the mucous wraps around it and it just keeps coming out! It doesn't hurt or anything but I was just curious if this is normal for a miscarriage...like is it just my uterus being cleansed or is it the lining of my uterus or what?? Thanks for any info

God is amazing, and He wil give you strength! It's tough but He doesn't give us anything we can't bare. you will be in my prayers.
p.s. i have 2 boston terriers, scout (2 years old) and goober (7 months old). we also have ranger (also 2), our little rat terrier. they are our baby girls. its always fun to meet another boston terrier lover :)

UPDATE....So yesterday (22july) I started bleeding like a period. I am sure the miscarriage is over and I am not just having my normal cycle. This has been a hard road but I know God is on my side. We are hoping to try again soon but I am terrifed!! I go for my follow up appt on 6Aug to see how everything is and make sure my uterus has cleaned itself. I will be told then when it will be ok to try again. So now I guess I'm part of the TTC Club!! thank you to everyone again for advice, comfort and prayer!
ps (to previous post) I have a boston terrior too and love him to death. He's only 2 but acts like hes 6 months old lol!!
I am so sorry for you loss. I now know how hard it is! I carried for 7 wks with no signs of misscarriage either. It's nice to know I am not alone b/c I thought my drs where crazy when they told me it happens more often than I think. I pray I don't need anything to aid this along and my body will do it naturally. I do have a personal question though to any who could be of help...this might sound nasty but I don't know how else to put it.....since it took so long for the process to start, could my body have started breakin down all the tissue of the fetus and the lining of the sac and uterus?? I ask this b/c I bleed lightly and the "tissue" looks like finely chopped meat. I've had very few clots or pieces of tissue and don't know if I should expect to see that soon (i've only been bleeding since sunday night) or it this is just how my body is "doing it's job".

i am so sorry. when i had my miscariage i had started spotting on a monday and when i had an ultrasound on that wednesday, they clearly saw the baby but there was no movement or heartbeat. i was 16 weeks but the baby had measured only 9 weeks. i had carried the baby for 7 weeks with no spotting, no pain, no signs of a miscariage at all. i had to take medicine to aid along the process... you will be in my prayers, remember, God will get you through this.

I went to the dr yesterday for my appt where I was going to get a referral for a sec opinon but instead was told that if the bleeding has begun that the misscarriage is taken place! It was upsetting to hear but I had already been dealing with it for a week and have come to peace with it all! I got my rhogam shot yesterday and have to go back in 2 wks for a follow up appt. Thank you all for your prayers. Even though I hurt I know God is taking care of me!
ok at 8pm last night I went to the bathroom and there was red blood! it wasn't alot but kinda like your 2nd or 3rd day of menstration. I was devasted thinking this is it, it's over and i'm going to pass it all. nothing else happened last night and this morning my pad was clean (sorry if TMI). I went the bathroom and very faint blood was there. about an hour ago I went and there was more blood. It's not flowing out like I've read it does so maybe my body's handling it differently. Im not sure but I left a msg for my dr to call me so i can talk to her about it and see what she thinks. Thank you all for your prayers and thoughts!
I guess it could be possible..anything is. I was on Yaz from nov to april. I quit takin it april 2 and started my period the 5th of april(meant to fix that in my first post and forgot) the estimated date of conception was the 12-16th of april. I 2 hpt a week b/f my period was due in may but both were -. I took one the 3rd of may and it was +! 2 days later it burned when I peed and I went to the er and they tested my urine for UTI and said Hcg was detected. I haven't had anything done with drs since b/c of our move. I wonder about location of placenta too! but even if I did lose the first one (even though I never spotted or bleed it could be coming out now I guess) and then reconcieved...what would make my levels be dropping? BTW I got all the numbers from my dr the other day and she said they are very low for where I should be but are fine if I was only 7 wks but they are dropping and that's not good. the 13th they were 8,572--the 15-5,358--then the 17-3,769. I don't know what's happening! I just keep praying!
I had alot of the same problems you are having, but I had them very early on, at 6 weeks. I had a light but continuous brown spotting and I asked for them to check me to either reasure me or prepare me for a m/c. The Dr. did a sonagram and only saw the lining of my uterus, needless to say I was not reasured. They did blood work that day and the day after and found my levels were low but rising so I was prescribed Progesteron supplement. I went back at 6w6d for an U/S with the Tech and she found the baby very easily and told me my uterus was tilted pretty far forward and the Dr. could have missed it with the older equipment she was using,

still having some brown spotting today but nothing serious and not cramping or pain. I go tomorrow to get a referral for a second opinon to see what another dr thinks. I'm not giving up yet!!!!
Umm...yeah...I don't know what the heck is happening! So I haven't seen anything since yesterday afternoon til today around 3. I went to the bathroom and it very obvious brown discharge. It went on for about an hour, just like the last day of your period, then bam it was gone. I've had no cramping or anything. I don't know if this is the start of it all and it's just slow and steady or what. I called L&D and told the nurse the whole situation and how I 'feel' something moving and she said she doesn't think I am crazy and I can go to the ER or go to the OB sick call monday morning and tell them I would like another u/s b/c something just isn't feeling right. She said even though she believes it will end in miscarriage due to my hcg levels dropping, she also believes in miracles and the power of prayer. I called the ER and they said they had been slammed for the last few hours and had no idea how long I'd be waiting. So we are going to go monday morning. I'm to the point now where, "whatever happens, happens" I can't control it either way. I just pray that if it's the worse, I don't have to have a D&C done but that my body will do what it's suppose to do on its own! Thank you all for your prayers and kind words.
Hold on alittle longer, i know this must be tough. Def make sure the doctors you are seeing are really experienced and make them answer all your questions. If this does not work out, you need to be strong so you can try again and concentrate on that. MC are so common it is not even funny, u are not alone, Good luck. And im sorry you have to go through this, please let me know if you need any one to talk to and let me know how things turn out, and be strong, it will happ for you when the time is right. Things like this just happ....

Ok so now that I know my numbers are falling I'm always expecting the miscarriage to take place everytime I use the rest room. At around 1 or so I went and noticed very faint brown spotting, that only lasted about 2 hrs. Now there is nothing. I don't have cramps or anything that is a sign of miscarriage. I don't know what's going on and I would love for all of this to turn around and there still be afetus in there that is thriving and healthy but if that's not the case I wish this whole thing would hurry and start b/c the wait is emotionally draining. I refuse to have any meds to help it along or a D&C. I would prefer my body do it naturally which I know inturn means...WAIT and see! No matter how much it may seem that the worst will happen, I am still holding on to that little MUSTARD SEED of Faith!

I just got the results back from the level check and they have again dropped!! Im devastated!!
How far along were you when they took that measurement? I just went back today to give more blood for the hcg levels to be checked again. No matter what it says I will get a second opinon
My gestational sac was measuring 6wks and they could not see a yolk sac, baby, heartbeart or embryo, they thought it was a blighten ovum as well. Like you this is my third pregnancy and my third baby. It is very upsetting. Don't have a D&C until you get a second opinion or get another ultrasound. I went back in 4 days later and there it was, heartbeat and everything. I also didn't have a tilted ututerus beforek, but with this one I did and that made it hard to see the baby as well. I know this might be the longest weeks of your life, been there done that. I hope all turns out well for you, Good Luck!
ok so today around noon or so I went to the bathroom and there was a little orangy looking discharge. I thought it was the beginning of the miscarriage and started freakin out. I had some slight cramping but nothing period like. Its now 730pm and I haven't had anything else happen and no cramps. I've read online that it could be extra estrogen that has been produced just being released or it could be an infection but if it were an infection it would be contiunous with cramps...what in the heck is this...anyone know??
I will post on what I find out. I don't want to throw the results I've recieved out the window like my dr is lieing but I don't want to give up on a child if one still exists! I don't know if it's mother's instict or just wanting another child or if my hormones are playing with my emotions but I'm not giving up yet!
