27 days late for my period ?

Hi, I am 22 years old and i am 27 days late for my period, My periods are reqular each month. was due to come on my Period April 22nd. Its now May 19th and still no sign, I misscarried in november 2010. I am sexually active with my partner. I have done 1 hpt arounf 9-11 days late and this was negative (afternoon sample). I went to my Drs Friday 13th and did another Pregnancy test. Today the test came back negative also. I requested a blood test but my Dr said she wouldnt do this in a case like mine. ( not yet anyway) she called today and told me to wait another week or 2, i am starting to worry now and i am tired of waiting. For the first 2 week i was feeling tired and had 2 full days of dizy spells, by breasts have grown a little more, i dont feel full when i am eating and i was getting some unusual poking/ twinges in my lower abdomen.

Can someone please help me ? i appreciate your thoughts and advice

I would suggest maybe speaking with another doctor.  If your doctor is not doing enough to put you at ease then you should probably see how you would feel with another.  Wait until the weekend passes and have another hpt done.  I have found that doctors dont like to do much unless it is confirmed pregnancy and if you want the test done and feel there is a strong possibility that you are pregnant then that may be the case.  No one knows as everyone is different but you at least deserve a doctor willing to work with you.

I suppose il have to wait this one out and book an appointment next week with my GP ? i feel she is no help though, the later it gets the more worried i become. This has never happened to me before, I dont feel stressed, i havent had a change in my diet, i am worried it could be something serious

A pregnancy test is usually accurate 2 weeks after unprotected sex. Because the hcg level is supposed to double every 48-72 hours it doesn't long to be able to br detected In a pregnancy test. Pregnancy tests (depending on brand)  an usually detect a level of 25 or higher (some tests can detect as long as a 12). Blood tests are considered more accurate because they can pull the exact level and tell you if your pregnant sooner than a hpt could. With that being said sometimes people don't show positive on a urine pregnancy test. Its extrememly rare and honestly I think its usually a user error. If I had to assume I'd guess you are not pregnant. There are lots of reasons why your period can be delayed. Stress is one of them.

I am due to start my next Period on sunday (22nd May 11) do you think i should wait to see if i come on ? I had suggested to my Dr to take a blood test but she said if it doesnt show on the pregnancy test then it wont show in your blood test. Is that true ?? she also mentioned that its usually around the 5 weeks late mark that it should detect HCG ?

hi there.. i guess 27 days is quite a long time to show up in a test if u are pregnant.. i would suggest go for another hpt with the first morning urine sample  .. blood test would be all the more better.. it is usually not wrong..
