30 weeks pregnant and passing out

ok so i nred to know what's going on with me. im 30. weeks pregnant with my second child and last Friday i passed out right before i clicked into work. right before i passed out i got really hot, lost my hearing and my eye sight, when i came to i couldn't move my legs or my arms i couldn't even talk. i remember waking up to people yelling my name and seeing the emt. they took a sugar tst and my blood pressure and everything was came back fine. when they took my blood pressure i lost the feeling in my arm until they finished. the emt said i was unconscious for about 3 minutes. i was sent to labor and delivery and they did blood work and everything came back normal they checked my blood cells and for preeclamcia.( sorry didn't spell that right) and everything came back normal after a few hours they sent me home. once when i got home i went pee and saw blood on the tissue paper. called my doc and was admitted back into labor and delivery for a 24 hour observation. once when i was back in labor and delivery they did the same blood work and this time with a ultrasound. and still everything came back normal. .. ever since the day i passed out i can't get rid of the uneasy feeling and feel like im going to pass out again. im always eating and drinking somthing. and today once again i was at work and had the same feeling of passing out i got really hot and lost my eye sight thank god someone was there and noticed something wasn't right i sat down and got some water to drink and after a lil while i got my eye sight back and the emt once again checked my blood pressure and sugar and it came back fine. i called the doc that was on call and he said for me to go home and rest for the weekend.. so im home and trying to figure out what's wrong with me and why this keeps happening to me. im scard something is wrong and idk what it is and neither do the doctors. im scard im going to pass out again and harm the baby.  please some help me and tell me what's wrong i need to know. thank you

I feel your frustration, I've been on complete bed rest and will remain so for the remainder of the pregnancy (21 weeks to go!) But for my the best rest, when I behave myself, really makes a difference. Good luck and get yourself a good book to read!

I thought I was alone with this scary experience! It happened to me at 15, then 25 weeks and almost again yesterday. My doctor said it is normal and can happen and if your hearing and eyesight goes back to normal and isn't being permanently impaired, you are fine. I was told the same thing about needing more protein, also avoid being in the heat or doing a lot of activity on an empty stomach. I was told that being slightly anemic during my pregnancy (probably due to the lack of protein) is more than likely the cause too. Maybe they should test you for anemia? In the mean time... avoid an empty belly, pack some nuts or protein bars with you, have water so you don't get deydrated! No being really active on an empty stomach and now that you're further along, avoid getting up from laying down or sitting down too fast... your blood flow is going a lot to the lower half of your body right now like your legs which can add to the diziness and icky feeling. Good luck!

Let's see, when I have an episode of svt I get a really anxious feeling, get dizzy, the tunnel vision and when I pass out my vision goes completely. My hands usually feel weird, like tingly maybe, like your foot falling asleep. I sometimes, but not always, get an ache in the left/middle of my chest and back, it almost feels like a cramp. I will get bouts of nausea occationally which I attribute to the dizziness. I can feel my heart beating, I can feel it in my chest, abdomen and neck veins. Its just an overly scary feeling, usually I get no warning and it comes on suddenly. Oh, and afterwards I get a pounding headache that I can only get rid of it I lay down for a while.

Like jnene24 said exactly. Im 20weeks and this has happened to me 3 times so far. The last time was last week and when i passed out i hit my head on the pavement and got a concussion. Like you all my tests came back perfectly normal and baby is fine. I too was told to stay away from sugar / carbs and eat high amounts of protein thru the day. So far so good and i do feel better. Try some Greek yogurt, cheese sticks, peanut butter or nuts, and granola bars. They're all light snacks but will give you the protein you need. Good luck and feel free to message me if you need to talk.

This use to happen to me all the time and it was because of low blood sugar , it went away for 2 years and suddenly came back last when I'm 30 weeks pregnant with my first child , fainting , lost of eye sight , vomiting, and feeling extra hot . The next day I spoke to my Dr about she said it was normal for women in their 3rd trimester because they are going through another hormone change and since its close to your due date your body is burning more energy , and to try to have a breakfast high in proteins once you wake up. Hopefully this works for you .

I have multiple cardiac issues, but the problem that causes me to pass out usually is due to my svt (supraventricular tachycardia). A lot of the time I am able to get myself out of this rhythm, however bc you haven't been diagnosed, when you start to feel funny, place your index and middle finger to your carotid artery in your neck to feel your pulses, it should be no higher then around 110 for a pregnant person, if you count for a minute and the rate is over 160, you are in svt. I would go to the emergency room right away if this happens. I am able to take steps to make my rate go down. You can try to vagal yourself by holding your breath, bearing down like you are having a bowel movement, splash some cold water in your face, or drink some cold ice water, however you still need to be on your way to the ER when this happens. Sometimes your rhythm is unable to break despite these efforts and you may need help with medications.

I'm 32 weeks this SAME EXACT thing has been happening to me. they have no idea why and when I went for a follow up with my ob my blood pressure was really high once.. but not when I passed out.  they did an ekg to see if there's something wrong with my heart n it came back that my heart rate is elevated.. which dr said could be causing fainting.. when it happens though I don't feel my heart racing it feels like its beating harder.. idk what it is.. neither do the drs BUT the nurses at the hospital told me to eat more protein.. which has helped ..STAY FAR AWAY FROM SUGAR AND CAFFEINE .. EVEN GOOD SUGAR!! they told me to not even eat fruit without a protein also at the same time.. try it. and ALWAYS have water with u. and don't stress about it I know its hard not to but I started to get anxiety about when it was going to happen (because of course I was alone every time and had to call for help) and it makes it worse and your anxiety could be bringing it on more .. if your doctors find anything out keep me updated :o) good luck

You said your blood pressure was fine, what about your pulse? Pregnancy is a risk factor for cardiac issues, I hope they performed an ekg to check your electical system?? I have a heart condition (had it prior to pregnancy) and I pass out. I don't get hot but my eye sight goes, and I get tunnel vision before it totally goes out. My heart rate goes extremely high, which causes decreased blood flow to my brain, leading to loss of consciousness. My other theory for you would be blood pressure. Your blood pressure can drop unexpectedly during pregnancy, but by the time the emts got to you, it had regulated itself. Its not too uncommon for this to occur. How are your pressures normally? Do you run low? Also, the uterus can press on your decending aorta, the blood supply to the lower body, or your inferior vena cava, that brings the blood back to your heart. Compression of these vessels can cause syncope (fainting). If its not these factors and your sugars are normal then you may just be diagnosed with syncope of unknown origin, meaning they really don't know what causes it,. Be careful and take care of yourself!

If your sugar levels are normal, I dunno what it is. I have low sugar anyways & that's what happens when my sugar gets really low. Get hot, ears ring, and spots in vision or feeling like a dizzy like vision. Was it hot outside or in your work? I know if I get hot, I feel the same way. I would just say keep hard candy on hand & if you start feeling it come on, drink some orange juice.
