I am 32.5 wks and feeling lots of rectum pressure. Feels like I need to go poo but I am not constipated. The pressure doesnt quit. This is my 4th child and I believe she has dropped because I can breathe again. Is this normal or a sign of preterm labor?
Sensations of increasing pressure in the rectum are common, especially in second or later-age pregnancies. It's not a sign of preterm labor, but rather a prelabor symptom that can precede real labor by a full month. You shouldn't be alarmed at this stage, but if other stronger, painful labor symptoms occur, then it would be time to phone your doctor. Good luck, you're in the home stretch!!
