34 weeks and being induced!

Back story~~

So the past few weeks I have been
having high blood pressure and I have been in and out of hospitals because of it. The doctors were worried about me developing preeclampsia and the fact that my baby is low on amniotic fluid.. I received 2 steroid shots for my baby's lungs and got tested for GBS.
After a weekend stay at L&D of being monitored and not developing any new symptoms, I was discharged and able to have my bed rest at home with close monitoring.

Just yesterday at a prenatal appointment,I got the surprising news that just within the couple days I have been at home, I developed a shockingly large amount of protein in my 24 hr urine and my blood platelets had dropped lower! I was than diagnosed with severe preeclampsia and told to go to L&D right away and prepare to be induced!

What's happening now~~~

I arrived here and shortly after arriving I received an IV of magnesium. It has been nearly 24 hours since I arrived but now the process is moving along.
My cervix was checked and the dr says the conditions are not favorable. (My cervix is high, long and closed).
I received misoprostol vaginally to "ripen" my cervix just an hour ago.
I don't feel any different yet but according to my monitors, I am having contractions already!! I can't feel them though...
Daddy will be joining me as soon as he can. :)
I will be checked in the morning to see if I have begun to thin and open. If I have we will probably move along to the next step of stimulating labor!
For anyone interested in the induction process, I will keep updating as often as progress allows. :)

It is normal for how early my baby came.

I explained the situation in the back story.
I had severe preeclampsia, which is a very serious pregnancy complication that not only threatens the life of an unborn baby, but life of mama as well. That's why I was induced at 34 weeks

I ended up receiving the pitocin because my contractions started to get too far apart. About 30 minutes after receiving the pitocin I started to feel pressure, like I had to poo! I let the nurse know and she went to check how dilated I was.
I was complete! So she started to get the room ready and let the Dr's know it was time. I pushed for about 1 hour with excruciating pain!! Might I add... and at 12:18 pm my baby girl was brought into this world. :)  3 lbs 4oz,  17 inches long. She is beautiful and doing great! The time she will spend I'm the nicu will be mostly working on her suckling and weight gain. Well worth all the pain<3 I love her so much already! What a wonderful experience :)

Contractions are getting stronger and much much more painful. To the point where I can't even talk through them. Also the reason why it is taking me a while to update.. They are so close together that I almost want to just squeeze and squeeze my pillows the whole time.

Good morning! It is now 8:53 am and Dr just came in to check the progress! Approximately 6 hours ago the Foley balloon was removed and I was dilated to  4. As of right now I am dilated to a 7!  Instead of giving me the pitocin, the Dr decided to let me try to labor on my own. So she just broke my water and is now monitoring me to see if contractions pick up. If not, I will receive the pitocin.
Getting closer to meeting my baby girl!

It is now 2:22 am and I just had my Foley balloon removed. I am not dilated to a 4 and had a bloody show. My Dr is allowing me to take it easy for the night and see if I continue to dilate and contract on my own. We'll see in the morning if I made some progress. If not then we will begin the pitocin and shortly after he will break my water and we will go from there.
Daddy has been here with me all day ready to meet his baby girl and even brought many gifts for her. :) I am so lucky to have a supportive, faithful baby daddy and we are excited to begin the next chapter in our lives.
I will continue to update as progress allows.

o I haven't received another dose of the miso pill because I am having contractions right on top of each other. They are becoming quite painful but I am trying to tough my way through them.
They inserted a Foley balloon to help me dilate a little further and as of right now it is looking like my baby girl will make her way into this world tomorrow :)

t is now 8:25 am and I am dilated to a 1 and 80 % effaced. My Dr decided not to give me another miso pill because I am now having regular contractions.. I definitely feel them and they are painful but not unbearable. From a 1-10 I would rate them about a 5 maybe a 4 1/2.
My Dr says that our next step is to use a balloon. To insert it in my vagina and over time it will expand and help me dilate quicker..
As of right now, I have a little time to eat my breakfast and doze for a little while.

Update!

I had another dose of misoprostol about 4 hours ago and now I am finally beginning to feel the contractions! They are not painful. They feel like period cramps mixed with the feeling of diarrhea.. like you have to go but don't lol best way I can describe it.
My baby is doing quite well through it and in fact it is almost like she is river dancing in there.. she has not settled for quite some time.

Daddy is at home sleeping, preparing for the big day. He will get up soon(within the next 3 hours) and aid my step son to school and prepare his weekend bag to papas house. Then he will make his way here. :)

I should be getting another dose of misoprostol soon, my third out of the 4 I am supposed to have I believe?.. we will see.
I'll keep updating as progress allows. :) thank you ladies!
