4 month old and "babbling"

I posted this in Maternal forum but Im posting here too.

So Jadyn had his 4 mont appt on the 26th, he was 4 months old on the 23rd.. I was reading online about how when they are 4 months they should "babble" in response to you talking.  When I talk to Jadyn he will smile and he knows Im talking to him but he doesn't really make any noises, the only time he makes noises is when he "complains" as my mom and I call it and its right before he starts crying, like if I lay him on the floor too long and he starts getting frusterated he will object and make a bunch of high pitched kind of "yelling" noises.

Recently he started tucking his bottom lip in and going "MMMMMMMM" and he does it ALL the time, I dont know if he does it because he likes how it sounds or what, His doctor asked me if he babbles in response to me talking to him and I think I just looked kind of confused lol because Jadyn doesnt really talk to anyone.. lol

Also his ped. asked if he was rolling over, He doesnt roll at all! lol he lays on his back and sometimes grabs for his feet but that's about it.  Do you think there's something wrong? I always get so worried! Help!

Oh and the "Mmmmmmmmm" noise is considered babble, too. My daughters did that.

Each baby is different and will develop new skills when they're ready. You can try to have him practice trying to roll over but most likely he just doesn't care to do it and is content.

As for babbling- boys do tend to start speaking later than girls. I think the only issue a doctor would be concerned about is deafness but if he hears you and startles at loud noises his hearing is most likely intact.

Just seems like he's content just the way he is! I wouldn't stress over it. He'll be jabbering away before you know it.
