6 weeks 3 days pregnant

Hi,

I had an ultrasound today and the doc could not find the baby nor the heartbeat. The sac was visible but I feel that the doc did not take enough time to look. I could have sworn I saw my baby in the sac, but the doc said he wasn't sure if it was a baby..... I had a miscarriage in September and that is still fresh on my mind. I have not given up hope! :) The doc wants to see me next Tuesday for a follow-up ultrasound.....any advice?

Oh also, would it be best to have a full bladder than an empty bladder when having a vaginal ultrasound conducted? I was told to empty my bladder today.

Thanks!

I've always been told to empry my bladder with a vaginal ultrasound as they want your uterus in the pelvis, where for an abdominal one they want your bladder full so it pushes it up out of the pelvis, you may have ovulated abit later than you thought in your cycle, another week should make a difference to the scan

If you are really 6W3D there is a chance it is just too soon to see the HB and the baby. Some women will not get a HB until 7-8 weeks where other are lucky and get one at 6 weeks. If there is a sac in the uterus that is good. It is good that the Dr. wants to see you in a week because that is going to be  a good indicator. He will bring you in a do another U/S and from there be able to see if there is change from the one you did today. If will help to see if the sac is growing, if a HB shows up and so on. When you are early on you really have to wait it out and see what happens. Just try to wait it out and not stress too much. I know when you get an abdominal U/S they want a full bladder, but whenever I have had vagnial ones I have never been asked to come with a full bladder, I don't think that matters?
