I went yesterday and I'm 11 weeks and they couldn't find it. They said that its normal because some women's cervix is tilted until about 14 weeks

I wouldn't worry at all. I went last week to the dr. (16 weeks) and she couldn't hear the heart beat with the doppler. She did an ultrasound to be safe and the baby was fine. Sometimes the position of the baby, or size of the baby makes it harder to find. In my case, im a little chubby, so that made it alittle harder. My doc said soon the baby will be big enough that the extra.fluff on my tummy wont matter. Lol. Dont worry

They found the heartbeat on a doppler on me at 14 weeks, although I didn't really hear it it was so faint, apparently the doctor got some sort of reading. Before that it was always an ultrasound, transvaginal at 5 and 6 weeks and then on the belly at 10 weeks. I wouldn't worry at all.

I can't believe they didn't do a vaginal ultrasound... that just seems odd

I wouldn't worry at all. My doctor won't even attempt to listen for the heartbeat with the doppler until 9 weeks and even then he said it is still hard to find. Normally around 12 weeks they can detect it. I'm surprised they even tried that early! But since ur 6w4d u will probably see and heart the heartbeat on the ultrasound!! That's how far along I was when I had my first ultrasound...and it's the best feeling ever to see that heart fluttering! I'm so excited for u! Goodluck tomorrow!

I too was curious when heartbeat could be heard through doppler couple of days ago so I googled it, clysta is right 10wks if ur lucky. Bc it depends where baby is, bc theyre so little they can hide towards the back where it cant be heard. I did a u/s monday n they got the bpm through a recorded portion of the u/s, of course no sound. Good luck n enjoy ur pregnancy!

We couldn't hear my sons on a Doppler till after 16 weeks... At 16 weeks they were concerned and had to do an ultra sound because they sai they should be able to hear it.,, found it on the us and now I have a healthy 15 month old

Very normal. I can't believe your doctor would try and use a Doppler that early, it's extremely difficult to find that soon. You're lucky just to be able to hear it sooner than 10 weeks. For an example, I was in the ER at 13 weeks for vomiting and dehydration, and they tried to find the HB with a Doppler and couldn't. So they brought in an ultrasound machine and there she was happy as could be. I wouldn't be concerned at all.

Did they not do an intervaginal ultrasound? If they only did an external doppler then I wouldn't worry the baby would still be too small to really have a detectable heartbeat with the external doppler
