9 weeks+ preg bleeding

hi at 9 weeks 2 days pregnant i started to bleed and cramp. it wasn't bright red and was kind of thin blood when it came out. i also cramped on and off during and after. the bleeding only lasted a couple hours and was not continuous. its been 2 days and no more bleeding just cramp on and off but noe too bad. i have been laying with my feet propped up . i had an internal ultrasound and the baby looked fine. heartbeat and all were good. all blood work was good also. although they did not check my progestrogen level. the er dr said my cervix was slightly open which meant still possibility of miscarriage. this is my 4th preg and never had any problems before. my ob/gyn wont see me for another week and freaking out but trying ti stay calm. im hoping the er dr just thought my cervix is slightly open when actually isn't. had anyone ever had the same thing happen to them. i just know er dr dont experience this everyday like an ob/gyn so i just pray he is wrong. i heard too that ur cervix may look/feel open while preg when i is actually not.i hope so!!!!!!!!!

I would call them and insist on preogesterone levels and just give you a rx of Prometrium to be on the safe side. It will not hurt at all if you don't need it and can help if you do. I would tell the doctor that if they can not call you something in and or get you in to be checked that if somethign does happen he will be to blame! That you will go to another dr. You can always got to the ER and they will run tests. Did he tell you complete bes rest, no sex, which means nothing that can get your uterus to contract? Kissing heavy can do that! I found that out when I bleed a couple weeks ago. Also you right side is best to lay on and not your back! This can cause contractions in some woman. I would not worry about your cervix unless it keeps opening. I went into labor at 16 weeks with my first and dialated to 4 then they got it to stop and I closed back up. You can do that, even in full term delivery you can go backwards.

I didn't have a log in and don't know if you received my post. 2nd cycle bleeding is not uncommon.  I had 4 pregnancies with 2nd cycle bleeding. As long as you have a positive ultrasound, hang in there!  The cervix is always open 1-2 cm. after birth, until this baby is ready to be born.   ER docs say that to cover the butts.  Miscarriage is always a possibility from conception until delivery.  Stay calm.  Rest.  Relax. Call you doctor or go to the ER if the cramping or bleeding increases.  You'll know the difference.
