After Baby.

I just want to know how long until after you had your baby, was when you wanted visitors coming to your house. I'm afraid my mother in law is going to want to be there everyday right after we bring the ba you home..I at least want 2-3 weeks with my husband and baby before anybody shows up to the house. My family understands, but my husband's family has been overbearing during my pregnancy..how do I go about telling my husband and his family this without hurting somebody's feelings?

Same here. I don't even want people coming to the hospital. I just want it to be me & my hubby. Thank God I'm not going home after the birth. I'm going to stay with a family friend for a month which the family doesn't know about so, I can have more privacy. Do what you have to do to make yourself comfortable hun.

just explain that you want your family to have time to adjust to a new schedule with the baby. if you're breastfeeding, you can always say you don't want visitors until you and baby have the hang of it. I'm sorry you have to go through this. I wish people could just understand that we try to make the best decisions for our families and our babies and accept those decisions without getting offended.

I completely understand how you feel. When i was pregnant with my first child I felt the same way, I didnt want to have anyone over. But my feelings changed after I had the baby. I was soooo completely exhausted when I got home with the baby that I welcomed my visiting family and friends and the extra helping hands.

My sis told me she did the same thing and waited about two weeks before anyone could see the baby. She wanted here hubby and other kids to have that time first

I didn't start having visitors until my baby was two weeks old I simply explained I just wanted bonding time first so they came to the hospital before we went home
