I hanve no advice as I have never heard of this before, but I wanted to say keep us posted. I am thinking of your SIL.
You're welcome!! Sounds to me like her doc is being thorough, which is good. Keep us posted on how she is doing....
Hope you and your little one are doing well also!!!
thanks!!! they also sent her for a complete blood workup and they drew blood to test for renal functions... so Im assuming they think she is having problems with her urine... but thanks for all the info
From what I read on Google, they sometimes do non-stress tests and u/s to monitor the situation. That is probably why the doc is having her come to his office 2x per week now instead of the standard 1x.
Hey, sounds like your sil isnt having a good pregnancy, I thinking of her! I would just think he would set her up with u/s to keep an eye on her.
ok... so that means she will have her baby early then??? and how does the doc monitor an aged placenta?
I googled this and from what I was seeing, it basically means that the placenta is aged beyond how pregnant your SIL is. Did that make any sense? It's like your SIL's placenta is further along than she is with her pregnancy. It has matured faster than it should have. If this happens, the placenta can stop functioning the way it should. And the function of the placenta is to deliver the needed nutrients to the baby. Everything should be fine. She just may have to have the baby a little early. Since she is already 37 weeks, there shouldn't be any problems with that I wouldn't think.
