Alcohol?

I'm 21 years old and expecting my first child. I'm 28 weeks along and was wondering about alcohol consumption during pregnancy. I've been reading that you shouldn't drink while pregnant but my mother and my mother in law both drank during their pregnancies and my husband and I are just fine. Do any other mommies to be out there indulge in a glass of wine every once in a while?

For me when I've really wanted something I've taken sips off of someone around me to help with the craving and move on except back on valentine's day I really wanted a glass of champagne so I talked my husband into drinking the rest of the bottle so I could have a glass, now I'm expecting my baby any day now and have had a very normal healthy pregnancy, but I would say try not to because it does cross over to the baby

Alcohol is alcohol, no matter what type.

Honestly, this is a question you should ask your doctor.  There are guidelines they can give you and that is your best source of information.  Anecdotal information such as mom drank and I'm fine is not evidence but just a singular circumstance.  What your doctor can provide for you is what studies show and what they've learned in their practice from observing many women and their pregnancies.  So, please ask your doctor to get the most useful information for yourself.

good luck hon

Personally I wouldn't drink at all during my pregnancies. To each there own though. Some doctors will say it's fine to have a glass of wine every now and than but why risk anything just because something bad didn't happen to someone else. I'm not judging so don't think I'm being rude just stating my opinion!
