Am I having a full miscarriage?

I recently found out that I am pregnant. As of today, March 15th, I am 6 wks 4 days along. Last week, Wednesday, I noticed a lightish pink colored discharge on my panties. Later that day I had what they call "old blood" coming out of my body. I wasn't worried about that. But Thursday night I went to the bathroom and noticed that the color had changed. It was more red then brown. Friday morning I woke up and had a little more then spotting going on. I went to the ER and the dr told me that I had a threatened miscarriage. My cervix was still closed and my Hcg levels were up. I then went to my ob and had an intrauterine ultrasound and the ob told me that the baby was where it was suppose to be with growth and all. I asked her about the bleeding and she told me that it isn't uncommon for pregnant women to bleed during the first trimester. I went home and the bleeding continued. Saturday morning I woke up to cramping and more bleeding. I called my ob and asked her about the cramping and she said that I needed to stay off my feet and relax. I did so. Later that night the cramping stopped but the bleeding didn't. Sunday was the worst day. Around noon, I passed what looked to me like tissue and a blood clot. Of course I freaked. My mom called my ob and asked her what the tissue-like clump was. She said it could be my uterus stretching and that was the extra tissue or it could be mother's natures way of telling me that I am not ready for the baby. She told me to come in this morning. This morning, when I woke up, I had a string-like blood clot hanging from my body attached to my pad. Right after that, a very dark red clump with black spots fell out. There wasn't any gray tissue in it. It wasn't hard, but it was thick. I am worried that it may be the baby. Is it? Has anyone experienced this same thing and continued with their pregnancy or had a miscarriage?

I'm sorry you're going through this and I'm sorry to possibly upset you but it does sound like a miscarriage honey. Bleeding and cramping together are usually the tell-tale signs of a pregnancy failing (not always the case however). I miscarried in January and mine sounds like yours.......slight bleeding getting worse, with cramps and then passing clot like things. When I passed my little angel I was 7wks 3days and it was obvious what it was and my angel was on the pad like yours and didn't go straight down the toilet so I got to have a look at him/her.

Please arrange a scan if you haven't already to check things out. My thoughts are with you at this difficult time.

It sounds more like a blood clot than the baby, but it does sound like you're having a miscarriage. I'm sorry.
I had a miscarriage on february 4th that started the exact same way as you. It was very hard to go through, so I know what you're experiencing.
If you need someone to talk to, feel free to message me.

All the best to you.

Hey well while I can't tell you what will happen I can tell you I am more less in the same boat as you.. I went to the ER thurday because I was spotting but that day it was red so i freaked! they didn tell me much, I haven't stopped had some cramping (mostly when upset/stressed<<emotionally) and once i calm down and relax i stop bleeding. It is only enough for a pantyliner. I will hopefully be seen tomorrow so I can let you know how my visit goes and hopefully it turns out well for us both. And today i had two clots that looked thick but were small (could fit on a dime). I'll pray for you and I truly wish you the best relax I'm having trouble doing it but you should.

I can't say that I have experienced it.  Did you go to the MD this am?  They probably would be able to do another ultrasound and let you know.  Sorry you have to go through all of this.  Stay strong and good luck with everything.
