Am I pregnant?

I am 29 yrs old. We are trying for a baby and this is our first month. Lately I have been feeling very tired and sleepy, and this has been on since 5 days now. I got cramps couple of times...but not that bad...just slight one's. I spotted last week. My period was due yesterday...I get regular periods with a cycle of 30 days. Yet I haven't got....and this waiting time is stressing me. Is the stress causing my periods to delay? I have not felt week and tired b4 my periods b4. Also i have been having constipation since past 3 days. No other symptoms. Can i be preggo?

3 years ago before I was pregnant with my first child. I was told that I wasn't able to have children because of POS (Poly cystic ovarian syndrome) which was making me have my periods maybe at the most 3 times a year. I then started to think that it would be best for me to give up and find alternatives to pregnancy with my fiance at the time. I am now pregnant with my second child and we have never been happier all just because we were told that I couldn't get pregnant. Stress can delay your periods because it can do a whole bunch of other stuff to your body like can assist in cancers so gotta think of all the other possibilities that stress can do to your body. They say the best way to get pregnant is to not think about it. Good Luck on trying to concieve.

From what I know, stress doesn't delay your period. It can delay ovulation which results in a later period. (could be mistaken but, that's what I go by)....

Now that your trying to conceive, you tend to become more in-tune with your body and what it goes through. Naturally, it can take a healthy couple 6m-1y to conceive. Some even takes up to 2 years. It took us 6 months to conceive this pregnancy. Also, when you think there could be a chance your pregnant, especially now that your trying to conceive, your mind can play tricks on you making you assume one or the other thing is pregnancy related. Periods and pregnancy are so close to each other that it can be difficult to tell them apart. I had no signs I was pregnant at all in the beginning. I'm almost 20 weeks pregnant and just have started getting stronger symptoms of pregnancy. (the baby moving and such lol)

The advice I want to give you now that your actively trying for a baby is to relax and let nature take its course. There will be times your up and down and other times you want to give up and never try again. It's an emotional battle the longer it takes but in the end, it is worth it. I hope it doesn't take you as long as others. Good luck trying to conceive!

Hi Niki
I know what you are going through, I'm 29 too and my husband and have been trying for the past 2 years, there were times when I will get my period about a week late and  I will take a thousand tests which came out -ve. This month my period was 2 weeks late and I didnt want to disappoint myself so i decided to wait and see because I was also having cramps which were like PMS but there was no bleeding, I took the test 2 days ago and it came out positive! I went for scan yesterday and I'm 5 weeks! we are so happy. So just hang on there and wait for maybe another week before taking the test and stay positive all the time.
Wish you all the best love!

Thanks Chezross...

Not I haven't tested yet...just hoping my periods don't come another day or two...then i can definitely test it...as I am never late....this wait is killing me. I can't explain the feeling tired part though, as I have not experienced the same symptoms during PMS b4.

its difficult to say because most early pregnancy signs can also be associated with pms, have you got a test? you could test now with the 1st urine of the day. the only symptom i got early was sore breasts and bloated but that was also the symptoms for my periods, every woman carries differently too, ill keep my fingers crossed for you but you can test now :)
