Am I pregnant?

Dear Doctor,
I am 33 years age and getting IVF treatment for my pregnancy.  15 days after 3 embryos transfer through ICSI I did beta hCG test , result 175mIU/ml and Albumin  that's 3.4 g/dl.  My doctor said the test result is positive with me and tell me to do again the test after three (3) days. Could you tell me please, Am I  pregnant or what the result  bring with me.

However, doctor give me the following prescription that I m taking:
Tablet : Dydrogesterone 10mg, Estradiol Valerate 2 mg, Folic Acid 5mg
Progesterone 400Mg (Pessaries) Suppositories 400mg.

I am still not clear what are heaping with me... Please help ...

Thanks for comments again. My doctor just said it is going ok and doctor told me that he want to ultrasanography on 8 may.

Hi, Latika,

Your hCG is going up just fine.  By the numbers you have given, it doubled in 1.4 days.  (There are hCG calculators online that you can easily find by googling that phrase.)  Why doesn't your doctor explain things to you?

thanks a lot for reply and  comments!  Today May 1, 2011, I did again hCG test, level is found 1243mIU/ml. Could you ensure me the level of hCG growth is okay?  My earlier level is 175 mIU/ml dated 28 May, 2011.

Hi, Latika --

Whenever your hCG level is more than 5, you are pregnant.  Congratulations!!!!!
The "test result is positive" means in doctor talk, "Yes!  You are pregnant!"

You will be tested in a short time after the first test, because they want to see the hCG go up by a multiple of 2 or more in 48-76 hours.  If it doubles in two or three days, that is a sign of a healthy pregnancy.

The prescription for hormones is to support the pregnancy.  Any estrogen product the doctor prescribes (such as estradiol) will keep your uterus lining thick.  Any progesterone product will keep you from getting a period and washing the pregnancy out.  Folic Acid is a B vitamin that is very important for the health of the baby, it prevents (I think) spina bifida.

Don't worry, he is treating you right.  Congratulations again.  :)
