Any chance this pregnancy is viable?

On 2/7, I had three embryos transferred (these were day-3 embryos, not blasts).  On 2/19 I had my first blood test and HCG was measured at 4.7.  My doctor had me re-test two days later and the HCG rose to 22.5.  These numbers sound extremely low, but should I be encouraged by the significant rise in only 48hrs?  I go back tomorrow for a third blood test.  My biggest concern is that it could be ectopic.  Thanks.

Wow thank you all so much!  We did a third beta today and HCG went from 22.5 to 63.4 so my RE said no more b/w but an early u/s on Thursday.  Thanks for your words of encouragement, and Projectbaby congrats on your little miracle.  BTW my one and only BFP 2 years ago was ectopic, but my levels started at 117, then 170, 190, 210, 250.  So I do feel very encouraged by the doubling/tripling!

HCG levels are supposed to double every 24-72 hours. The levels will start out low but before you know it, they'll be skyrocketing!

Anyway, congrats!!! Sounds like you're PREGNANT!

I really think that sounds promising as well....I know someone who's levels were at 11, then 22.something, and now she is 37 weeks pg.!!! She also did IVF....So, I think that your numbers more than doubled maybe there is more than one in there???!!! Also, if it was ectopic, I don't think they double....at least mine didn't (I had an ectopic)....so I think you should enjoy and think positive......easier said then done......I have had 7 IUI's, and 3 IVF's....now I am finally pg, au naturale....so miracles can happen....good luck to you and let us know what is going on!!!   Jacquie

It looks very good... they day your hcg should double every 48 (or is it 72?) hours everyones numbers are different so as long as there doubling everything is golden : ) congrats!!!!!  and best of luck

it sounds promising that they more than doubled. I wouldn't worry about an ectopic unless there is extreme pain or if your levels decrease. Try to relax and wait to hear back after the third blood test. Good luck and congrats!
