Any teachers here?

I'm 14 weeks, and a high school teacher. I know I should tell the students sometime soon. I think some have already guessed something's up but so far, have only told my principal and a couple of coworkers who I have relied on for support.

For some reason, I can't remember how/when I told my students last time! Any thoughts, ideas, experiences to share?

I'm an elementary (1st & 3rd grades) teacher, and I told my kids when I was about 14 weeks bc some of them guessed it. With high schoolers (I taught 9-12 grades before), I would tell them sooner than later. You don't want teenagers havin too much time to gossip and come up with rumors! Lol

I'm also a teacher, I teach head start. I'm now 22 Weeks and I told the principal and some of my closest Co workers. My students are 3 and 4 so I didn't think telling them so early would be appropriate. I will them easy before I go on maternity leave though. With your students I would play a game or just come out and tell them since their older. Good luck

Good point - we have a faculty meeting next week, the day after my next doctor appointment. Probably as good a time as any! Maybe last time I let the kids find out through the grapevine?

I would make sure the rest of your coworkers know and then pass the news along to your students. Just so you don't leave anyone out or make your coworkers feel like they heard it from the grapevine!
