im stay at home mom as well... my husband is away all the time my daughter is in school so its me and my son ... i go crazy at the time...theres only so much house work to do and usualy i am done by noon.. then i cook and watch tv and come here read posts and stuff...my son is starting nursery this september so its gonna be tough time for me as i will be home alone .. and thats exactly one of the reasons we are  TTC.. i told my husband well i am not working, our daughter is in school already and our son is about to start nursery , i can at least raise  one more child... and he said  , well that child is gonna start school someday as well i cant keep making more babies  as soon as other one starts school.

WOW, I'd love to be able to have the luxury of staying home with my child...I will only be able to afford to stay home 4 weeks after I have my baby (ttc).  Just a suggestion...the government isn't funding education the way that it used to and teachers are being asked to do more and more with less and less (less help, less suplies, less planning time, less prepared kids, etc.)  IF you were able to volunteer at your child's school, that would be really helpful to the school, teacher, and you would probably find it very rewarding.  There are many things you can do in or out of the school.  Just a suggestion from a teacher who LOVES parent volunteers!

You mentioned church. Does your church have a moms group? If not start one. Talk to other moms in your church and see if they would be interested in meeting maybe once a week at each others homes or at a local coffee house. You would probably need 10 -12 moms to make it a success. You can always count on some that can't make it due to family obligations, but it can be an outlet for you to escape from mommy land and talk to adults. Although the funny thing is that you will spend all your time talking about your children:)

I would love to be able to be a stay at home mommy!!! I tried it with my last two, but went crazy being home that long, so I ended up going back to work...just to pay daycare it turned out. I wish I could go back and do it over. I would have stayed home with mylast two as well. But I was younger then too, and though I wanted to be home with my little ones all the time, I was too much of a people person to be able to stay home. Besides that at the time we couldnt afford for me to have any hobbies or for me to be going much of anywhere, so I was literally STUCK at home. Now, I woudl love to be able to stay home with my older girls, 7 and 10, so I can take them to school, clean the house, do whatever, work on the hobbies I have, and just have some me time too. As it is I work all day, my fiance takes them to school most days, picks them up, helps them with their homework and does all the "parent" stuff. Then I come home, we have dinner, do baths, and get them in bed. It SUCKS!!!!

I'm fearing the same thing when my lil boy starts school next year. Right now I get together with friends or family that stay at home with little ones. But when they're in school I'm sure we won't be getting together as much. I don't really have a hobby either. So your guess is just as good as mine...LOL...I guess we'll figure it out. Maybe I'll have another lil one by then....

I am a SAHM but I have two babies here with me all day. I get BORED, even with them here. So I'll check this forum out on-and-off all day. Go on walks, exercise, cook, scrapbook (LOVE IT!), watch a movie on icky days, CLEAN like a madwoman, read books/magazines, play with the babies and feed them and bathe them and all the things that relate on that end.

I generally TRY to keep the TV and computer off all day and focus on productive things. I like to crochet baby blankets (that's about all I can do!), surf the Net, take a shower, take a nap, etc. It seems like I have really lazy days but it is go-go-go all day long. Sorry you're bored!

You could always try volunteer work at your local hospital or nursing home for a few hours, during school hours. Or you can get a part-time job and put it away in savings or spend it all on you or the kids. I'd LOVE to be able to get a job. I have to stay busy.
