Anyone know what the changes of having 2 miscarriages in a row are?

I think I had a early miscarriage 2 days ago... I had (if you have a weak stomach, I'd stop reading, because what I'm going to say may be disgusting) a real heavy period the 1st day.. I wore a tampon to bed and when I woke up, there was like a 3 inch blooding clump.. (sorry I told ya, it was going to be disgustin) So I don't know if I had a miscarriage or not. What do you think? And also what are the chances of me having another miscarriage next pregnancy??

I had two miscarriages in 3 months. I am not pregnant again for the 3rd time in 5 months. Things look ok, but the dr. put me on prometrium to make sure things work out. I am currently 6wks and 4 days with cramping, but no bleeding or spotting. Hang in there...everything happens for a reason.

My sister had three miscarriages and now has a 12 year old daughter. So please do not think they will never happen when the time is right you will have a baby.

just because you have clumps and a heavy period doesn't necessarily mean a MC.....had you had pergnancy symptoms before your period?  And how about pain or cramping?  Ususally with a MC you have terrible pain and cramping......I just had my second one last cycle and it was awefully painful and lots of clumps not just on big one......I'm not sayin it isn't possible you could have MC'd but just don't be so quick to assume.  I just had my first period since my MC and it was terrribly heavy and had to wear a pad and tampon to bed and some nights it bled through anyways and I had lots of clumps.   So just the heavy bleeding and clump don't mean MC....Good luck and I pray it wasn't a MC I wouldn't wish that on anyone.

I don't know if you had a miscarriage, only a doctor can tell you for sure, but I know that most women have a 20% chance of miscarrying in the 1st three months, and if you have one miscarriage you are 5% more likely to miscarry with the second baby than a person who has not miscarried in the past.  So even if you do miscarry once, you are most likely going to go on and have a healthy baby the second go round.  BTW 60% of pregnancies end in miscarriage before three weeks, meaning that most women don't even know that they miscarried.  So I would say not to worry too much, but go to the doc with what has just happened, so they can tell you if you did miscarry or just had a heavy period, and then not worry too much down the road, because most women will be fine on their second pregnancy, especially with early miscarriages.  Hope this helped!

I've heard that if you've only had one miscarriage, the chance of having another one is not any higher than someone who has never been pregnant before.

As for the clump...yeah that does sound like a miscarriage. I've had two miscarriages. The first one required a D&C, but the second one happend by itself at home, and I passed the same type of tissue you're describing.
