I've read on fertilitlyfriend.com that if your BBT is elevated 18 dpo - then to test... Good luck! My temps were totally eratic - when I had my 2nd miscarriage this spring my dr told me that my charts looked totally normal - she said the only thing it's good for is when it spikes -you know you ovulated... but this last time I ovluated - I was traveling granted - but - my temp didn't spike when I ovulated - it just kind of meandered up... OPKs are great too - they actually did a 'follicle study' on me to make sure I was ovulating -thought we missed it but I guess we hit it just right. Sorry to hear of your m/c - was that your first? I had two back to back and was crushed. It was found in fertility testing that I have some kind of chromosome mutation/enzyme problem that is solved with baby aspirin. They also have me on prometrium (progesterone). Good luck to you.
you prob already know this but your luteal phase (period between ovul and af) should last from 12-16 days...mine usually 12-13 days. if your temps stay high beyond that point, preg is very likely! i am only 2dpo, but am praying that my temps remain high! here's to the high bbts! keep me updated! loads of baby dust to you all! *******
I havent been charting consistently. I am going to start charting now. All i know is that before my af, i am usually around 97.6, and 10dpo it is 98.2. I have been only charting for 5 days now. Not so accurate, huh?
5dpo - 97.79
6dpo - 97.82
7dpo - 98.10
8dpo - 98.2
9dpo - 98.32
10dpo - 98.19
I do not want to get my hopes up at all. I have had a miscarriage before (9/29) and so desperately want to get preggo again. It was the hardest thing i have ever gone thru. In my last pregnancy, i had no symptoms except heavy menstrual cramping about 4 days before AF, took a test and was +. Took test today (10dpo), i know its early, but it came up (-). I feel nothing now except my nipples (sorry TMI) are a little sensitive, light cramping here and there, oh and the other day i felt really sharps pains in my lower abdomen that lasted a few minutes, and one weird thing, i washed my hair late last night, and woke up with it feeling very greasy. Dont know what that is about. Hmm. Anywho, its nice to get some advise. I wish you all the best of luck too. Baby dust!
Mine as well as a friend's have gone up to about that temp - mine was 98.3 the last time I took it and I'm 10 weeks, my friend is probably 19 or so. My temp before ovluation was 96.9ish and after would be anywhere from 97.6-98.1 - with a miscarriage this spring and this time, my temp rose to 98.3... Could be a good sign! How long hav eyou been charting for? Has it ever gone this high? When my (and my friend's) temp went this high it was right about the time AF was due... Have you been to: fertilityfriend.com? You can chart your temps for free - there are some added features for a fee- but charting is free. It also has a 'community' where there are lots of frequently asked questions that I found helpful.
I'm not sure. I don't know much about this but am interested as to what kind of responses you get. I only just started taking my temps Thurs. morning. I started with a regular thermometer though. That morning, it was 97.9. Fri. was 98.0. Friday night, I bought a BBT. Sat. morning it was 98.89. I don't really count that because I had a light beer Fri. night and I know that affects your temps. This morning it was 98.62. My understanding about temps are that our temp is lower from the first day of our period until ovulation. Once ovulation takes place, our temps spike from approx. .4 to .6 higher. Of course that can vary from person to person. Your temp will stay elevated until you start your period or thoughout pregnancy. I think mine is high for me too. I think I'm usually in the low 97s. So, I'm assuming ovulation took place for me. See, my cycles are probably kind of messed up because I stopped taking the pill around 5 or so weeks ago. I was going to chart my temps and attempt a more natural form of b/c. But I may have gotten pregnant already and not even meant to.
everyone is different. mine is usually 97.0-97.6 before ovulation and after ovulation 97.7-98.5. there is such a thing called "triphastic phase" where your temps spike to a whole new level of highs which is common with pregnancies. i highly recommend a book called "taking charge of your ferility." it has really helped me with charting. best of luck to you!
