BFP...but now cramping and spotting..is this normal?

So i had a positive beta last Wednesday (11dpiui). My HCG doubled on my second beta and I go back in tomorrow for my third. I am starting to have some dull cramping and I noticed that I have brown spotting...

is this normal? I am taking progesterone supp. but forgot to take one this morning? Could this be why I'm spotting?

I'm getting nervous that something is wrong...

It doesn't sound good and I'm very sorry to hear that you're miscarrying. I miscarried almost 2 weeks ago and there is also a Miscarriage Forum here on MedHelp for support. Feel free to message me and vent all you want!

well ladies....I had another beta this morning to make sure things were ok..my HCG level only went up from 12 on Friday to 19 today...they figure it's a done deal...no more pregnancy...I'm still spotting brown....I guess it just wasn't meant to be...

nevaeh- lots of pregnant women have early bleeding. Call your doctor in the morning and talk to them about it! Skipping one progesterone pill shouldn't have made a difference. Have you asked about natural progesterone or the suppository. Apparently those absorb better as well.

AND--- I have a friend who got pregnant via IUI. She spotted when she was 6 weeks (doctors thought it might have been the baby aspirin she was taking). She is now about 25 weeks pregnant with a baby girl! Spotting doesn't necessarily mean anything bad will happen. Keep your chin up and let us know what happens!

I guess I have it lucky...I live 15 minutes from a hospital (a small one) that is never busy so I usually walk into the ER and am done and on my way home within the hour.  Like I said, I'd personally just want some things checked.  Cramping is normal in pregnancy...I had such strong cramps this time around I was scared!  But, keep an eye on it and go if anything changes etc.  And definitely call your doc in the a.m.

I am newly pregnant as well. I had lots of cramping and i had spotting for about 4 days but then it stopped and now i'm not cramping or spotting and everythings fine. i know its so hard not to worry but its normal.  they told me cramping is normal because your uterus is getting bigger and everything is just changing. i had cramps for about a solid 2 weeks, every day cramping but now its gone and fine. so try not to worry too much. if it gets so bad you cant breathe or walk, then go to the ER. If you have a lot of blood thats red, go to the ER, otherwise relax and talk to your doctor next time you see him.

I agree with alaysha - she hit the nail on the head with regards to going to the ER and your symptoms.

ER can't actually do anything other then check your levels and give an early ultrasound which wont show anything at this point. Plus you'll just be spending countless hours waiting to see the doctor. I would wait until tomorrow and go to your doctor like normal. Also, cramping in early pregnancy is completely normal and brown spotting is old blood and not something doctors usually worry about. If it gets worse and turns red though I would go to the doctor.

Personally, I'd go to the ER...cramping with bleeding/spotting in my book needs to be checked ASAP...Good luck!
