I used the cup/ mug I got from the hospital.. 32oz.. Had three a day, at least. I had an awesome supply, froze constantly besides putting  bottles if it in the fridge... Got one with each baby, hoping I get another one!! Also, being hydrated helps your body function properly anyway... In pretty much any sense. :)

yeah I just heard a bunch of girls saying they drink a glass while the baby feeds to ensure you get enough. I always have a glass by my bed at night anyway pregnant or not. So thats just what ill probably do. But I honestly wouldnt know thats just what ive heard lol i'm 11w with my very first! So just going by ear (:

As far as I know, they say to drink a glass every time they eat because it will keep you hydrated enough to keep up with their milk demands....

The glass of water each time you nurse is to ensure you are taking in enough water.  It's just easier than trying to keep track of water intake.

She was asking about benefits .... not saying she was going to do it for that reason, and I'm sure if she's researched benefits then she also has looked at how to stay healthy and eat healthy for her and baby .... my Dr and pediatrician has told me to eat normal and stay hydrated and by normal they say three big meals or six small meals just as if you were trying to eat healthy during pregnancy....

I did weight watchers after 4 Weeks to lose the ”weight” and eat healthy. Their program has modifications for breastfeeding... I had to stop ww because I was losing too much (2-3  lbs a week, and even when I tried to do the maintaining instead of losing).. And you know what?? I still lost 1-2 a week!! I couldn't keep my normal weight I like to be at for months and I ate all the time... So, for me it does... It happened after both pregnancies...

No, I was just saying it shouldnt be done for that reason.  Wasn't directing that back at anyone specific.  And I didnt see where anyone mentioned to stay hydrated very well.  That is a huge thing if you nurse.  Again, I wasnt trying to be snappy or anything.

Yep! The nipple stimulation (kinda sounds perverted worded that way) helps contract the uterus and its like exercising your uterus and it helps you lose weight! I lost lots of weight with my second son!

Breastfeeding should not be used to lose weight.  The point is to give your child the best nutrition you can.  In order to do that you are supposed to take in more calories.  So if you are trying to diet and nurse, you are essentially taking away from your baby.  It does help shrink your uterus alot faster which in turn shrinks your stomach.

For me it helped get rid of the swollen uterus fast... like within 10 days!!!

It helped for the most part. I still kept on about 10lbs until I was completely done but that came right off afterward.

It definitely helped me i was only able to breast feed for 3 weeks, but with that said i had gained a total of 22 pounds and by the time my daughter was 6 weeks old i had lost 33 pounds! Also breast feedimg helps your uterus contract back down to normal size so while baby is feeding or your pumping you can feel your uterus contract. It's pretty cool. And it does burn a lot of calories but also make sure you contain a good diet and eat well so you can keep your milk supplies.

Absolutely! It helps to shrink the uterus back down to normal size sooner.  Plus, it can burn up to 500 calories per day.  If you diet and breastfeed, great combination for losing weight.  Just make sure you get enough calories so it doesn't affect your milk supply and drink plenty of water.
