Baby Jadyns birth story and update

I know lots of you have been waiting for an update, sorry it didnt come sooner.. i was busy to say the least lol.. Well I went into Labor and Delivery at 6:00am Thursday morning and they hooked me up to pitocin around 6:45. I started having contractions around 7:15.  It went well until i got to about 5.  I was having really bad back labor so i decided to get up and try the whirlpool.  Well i was shaking so bad that it didn't work out and i just felt cold and unstable.  I went and got back in bed.  I was at a 3 then.  I got some nubane for my pain.  It worked well for about 15 minutes, she checked me and i was at a 5.  i waited for about 5 minutes and decided i wanted the epidural.  After i decided that and we let the nurse know i had 7 contractions back to back and my nubane had worn off.  The anesthesiologist got there and had me sit on the edge of the bed so he could do the epidural.  Well I was having constant contractions at this point and suddenly i yelled "I NEED TO PUSH!" The nurses eyes got about as big as basketballs.  After the anesthesiologist finished my epidural the nurse checked me and i was at 10 (15 minutes before that i was at 5.) so the nurse decided it was time to push.  Well my doctor was doing a c-section so we waited for an hour before i could push.  finally she came in and i started pushing around 11:45.  About an hour later my dotor had to head back to the clinic but told the nurse to have me keep pushing.  Jadyns head was stuck under my pelvic bone.  an hour later jadyn finally crowned and my doctor wasnt even there!  so they had to call her to come deliver, meanwhile i had to wait through about 5 contractions with jadyns head ready to fall out! finally my doctor  came back and after 2 pushes baby jadyn alexander made his appearance at 1:52pm.  He weighed 6 pouinds 4 ounces and was 18 1/2 inches long.

We stayed in the hospital thursday and friday night and finally came home saturday afternoon.  Sunday morning we went back for his weight and color check and his jaundice level was at 18.  they want it to be 10 or below so he was admitted to pediatrics for the night.  it was the worst 17 hours of my life.  i could only hold him every 2 hours to feed him for 30 minutes.  otherwise he had to stay under the lights with these terrible gry foam "goggles" on.  if he cried the only way i could comfort him was by rubbing his leg or back,  he hated not being held and the stuid nurse kept trying to give him bottles when he knew i was breastfeeding and didnt want him to have bottles.  i started crying at one point because jadyn was crying and wouldn't calm down and i couldnt do anything.  i hated it there and i hope we dont have to sty there ever again while he is so small.

He is a great baby, I wake him up every 2 hours to eat but otherwise he is very content.  He has his "awake" time around 7:30 or 8 but usually sleeps.  He makes so many funny faces and cute noises.  He's very quiet even when he does cry and is easily calmed just by picking him up and holding him.  I couldn't ask for a better more happy baby.

As far as me, Im doing okay.  Getting better after the labor.  Having his head crowned for so long took a big tole on my bottom and did cause me to tear a little.  so I have 2 stitches and have been working on gteting everything all healed up.  Breastfeeding is going great.  He is latching on and eating VERY well.  My milk has come in and i really enjoy feeding him and spending that time. (plus its good for both of us!) sorry it took me so long to update ladies, but here is the story!

Aside from having to wait for your doctor and having Jadyn admitted for his jaundice, the whole experience sounds great!  It's nice to hear a great labor story ...sometimes a lot of them scare me!!!

I do hope my little Jaiden does as well as yours ...I plan on breastfeeding as well, and I worry about him not latching on or him falling asleep and not getting enough!

Congratulations on yer little guy!!  Off to look at some pictures!  =-D

I am so glad to hear that everything went ok! ***** that the doctor wasn't there to deliver the baby when you were ready but I think it happens often when people are induced because it happened to me as well. I'm also glad to hear how easy breastfeeding is for you! I LOVED breastfeeding it is the most bonding thing you can do with your baby at that age! Or at least I think so. Keep posting pictures of that little one he is ADORABLE!!!

YAY!  Congrats!  I am so glad it was a good labor.  I can't believe they made you wake to push though.  I would have said screw it, and pushed!  LOL  The nurses are trained to deliever a baby!  Ahaha!

But yay, he is sooo cute!  Aww, I am really glad the breastfeeding is going good too!  And sorry about the jaundice thing.
