My son has dropped and disengaged several times this pregnancy so I wouldn't say that dropping is an indicator of how soon labor will occur..many women "drop" months in advance, although some drop immediately before labor, and some - like me with this pregnancy (my 3rd..I dropped about 5 weeks before labor with #1, and about a week before labor with #2) - will have baby drop and then disengage many times without labor commencing..I'm now 37 1/2 weeks and still quite pregnant, lol.
But as you know from your previous deliveries there are some things to watch for and if you think, for even a moment, that labor might be starting, go immediately to the hospital..way too early for bub to be here if you can help it!
good luck...fingers (and legs, ha ha) crossed that you get in another 6 or so weeks!
My baby has been head down for a few weeks already... I've been wearing a maternity belt to help with the pressure! Sometimes it feels so painful I want to cry like her head is right there between my legs! I wear a belt to keep her up but I don't wear it when I'm sleeping there's no need for it. She has definetly dropped further this isnt her just in a weird position she can't go n e lower. This is my third pregnancy she's definitely dropped no question about that.
I was wondering if I was carrying lower a few weeks ago too, about week 33 I think, but after a while it seemed to move up a bit again. I attribute it to the baby's position. Now that baby is head down all the time and the back is vertical, I have lots of room to drop further. Plus, not much pressure yet, have u been feeling extra pressure or the same amount, because that usually accompanies the drop.
My next apt is on Thursday... I am definetly going to ask her but It seems like forever to wait lol and was wondering what other moms have experienced with this. I walked into the kitchen and my husband even noticed right away that my belly is much lower then yesterday!
I carry really low...maybe check with your drs tmr...when is your next appt?
