Birth control and pregnancy, please read

I started on the pill the beginning of December. It made my periods pretty irreguliar for some reason so at the start of march I stopped being on the pill till I got my period at the end of march. I went back on my pill after that and have been on it for over a week now. So since I stopped the pill for a month and went back on it after my period is that bad since me and my boyfriend have sex with no other protection this month? Just cause I know the doctor told me when I first went on it to use protection the first month, I don't know if that still matters now.
How high of a chance do I have of being pregnant? The last time I had sex was wednesday. Yesterday I didn't take my pill, and might not today either so I could get my period to come.

If you dont take the pill as directed it has the same effect as not taking it at all.  If you stop it, its important to  use additional protection if you restart taking it during the first 2 weeks.

When you don't take your pill correctly there is a chance you could get pregnant esp if you have not been taking it for the past month.  I would use another form of birth control at least for the next month but honestly if you have a tendency to forget to take your pills or don't take them at the same time everyday then you should always use a condom.  The reason your periods were irregular is because your body is just getting used to the hormones in the pill.  They should become more regular the longer you are on the pill.  So just make sure you take your pill at the same time everyday and don't miss any doses.  I know a few people who have conceived while on the pill because of not taking it correctly.  Also know that if you are ever on antibiotics it can weaken your pills and make it more likely for you to get pregnant.  If you don't think you will be able to stick to taking your pill every day on time then I would talk to your MD about other forms of birth control like the Depo shot.  Good luck with everything.
