Bleed in early pregnancy

Hi,about a week ago I discovered I was pregnant,over the weekend I started to bleed slightly mainly when I wipe,I was referred to epu for internal scan,they could confirm I was 5 weeks pregnant and there was no blood in sac and could c egg,they said not to worry and booked me in for two weeks to see heartbeat...I'm very scared...is it normal to bleed?and when will it stop...this is my first pregnancy...any advice?

I'm with ya girls....I've done a lot of bleeding in the pregancy (pregnancy #4 with twins).  FREAKS me out but each time the doc says everything is okay and bleeding is normal and occurs in many pregnancies...I say if you start bleeding put your feet up and lye down....drink a lot of fluids..Good luck - it sure is scary!

if the bleeding is not in the uterus then I think you will be fine.  I had a m/c back in August that started out with spotting when I wiped; however, when they did the u/s they say that the bleeding was in the sac and told me to expect the worst.  I m/c about 10 hours later.  If the blood was not in the sac on your u/s, then I bet it's just a cyst.  Good luck and my prayers are with you!

Yes that does help...i do find if I lie down, it helps....it is comforting to know you are going through the same thing....I've got another scan on 19th when I will b 7weeks...and a doctors app this friday...so hopefully nothing to worry about...I think I've just got to try and relax...good luck with everything...thankyou...x

Lisa, I'm going through the same thing. I will be 6 weeks tomorrow and I have bled when I wipe off and on. I got so scared, I went to the ER two times. They told me it could be a cyst that I have in my left ovary or old blood. I had an u/s this past Monday and saw two sacs with the yolks. So I'm scheduled to go in for my regular appt next Thursday. My RE said it normal as long as you don't fill up two pads within an hour. She also took me off the baby asprin everyday bc I was worried it could be contributing to the bleeding. If they did the scan and said it was fine, just relax. I have found if I start bleeding when I wipe, I go lay down and put my feet up and it helps to relax my body and I don't bleed. Hope this helps!

believe me i know it's hard...i'm going through something really hard right now as well..have an ultrasound tomorrow to find out if my should be 14 weeks baby is still alive, doctor couldn't find a heartbeat with a doppler yesterday so believe me i know what you're going through...if the bleeding gets heavier to straight to emergency

i won't tell you my horror story i'm going through right now but i had bleeding at 9 weeks and they did an ultrasound and everything was fine. i have friends who have also had bleeding all through pregnancy and the baby turned out totally healthy and fine so i wouldn't worry to much yet.  It might be old bleeding from implantation where you're still early on.  Keep us posted and i hope everything turns out well for you.

It's a browny pink colour,its not alot it's just when I wipe...no back pain...bit of tummy ache but nothing severe...the bleed seems to come and go...the sonographer said she could c no problem in sac or with egg,and it's one of those things...just not convinced...i don't know if I'm being over paranoid....thankyou...x

How much blood are you having? What colour? Do you have cramps or lower back pain? It all depends...some women do get light bleeding during pregnancy and if they said everything looked fine then I would try to stay calm until your next scan. Good luck and I hope everything turns out for you!
