Bleeding and cramping while pregnant after intercourse

Well i am 5months pregnant and my partner and i have been having a lot of sex lately. I have been cramping afterward but usually don't say anything. It goes away after a while so i just didn't worry about it. Plus it was kind of embarrassing to talk about with him. Well today was a completely different scary story. We had just started to make love and i started bleeding. I went straight to the bathroom and while urinating, i seen a lot of bright red blood. What could have caused the cramping before and why am i just now starting to bleed? I'm still cramping while asking these questions. Why am i bleeding? What could be wrong? Will my baby be OK? Am i OK? Should i lay off intercourse for a while or is it safe or what should i do? I am really scared and worried. I'm embarrassed with my partner. I would like to continue to have sex because with being pregnant, my hormones are going crazy but i would like to know if it is safe and why this happened and what could happen if i continue to have sex, cramp, and bleed?

amberd and worried are both right. Cramping after sex is normal, but having sex while bleeding is not a good idea. You need to call your doc and  I imagine they'll want you to lay off for awhile.

intercourse is not safe whilst you're bleeding in pregnancy. you need to tell your dr asap

Call your doctor about the bleeding. Cramping after intercourse can be normal, it often happens after an orgasm. Good luck!
