I'm sorry.  Miscarriage is a cruel thing.  Please remember that this was not from anything you did or didn't do, it's the embryo's call and not the mama's.

I'm really sorry about your loss. I had a miscarriage last year and it took me about a full year to emotionally recover. I'm praying that you heal quickly and have more children when the time is right for you.Hugs, Cindy

Hi, I hope all is getting better for you with the bleeding. I bled from 8 wks all the way to 16 wks. My Dr still don't know the cause. Sometimes small amounts other times large. Enough to fill a pad in less than an hour. The first fled was so much I was sure I miscarried at that time but hadn't. Unfortunate for me I did miscarry and lose my baby boy at 16wks and 3days.  I hope this does not happen with you. The previous advice is good advice, try staying off your feet as much as you can and stay hydrated!! Wishing you all the best and praying for you and baby that all remains well.

If you are pregnant and bleeding, stay off your feet and stay hydrated.  Dehydration can cause the uterus to contract, as can walking around.  If this calms the bleeding, it is probably nothing.  But if you keep bleeding a great deal (more than a maxi pad in an hour, or "flooding" a cereal-bowl full when you get up to go to the loo) it is possibly a miscarriage.

Miscarriages happen for the embryo's own reasons.  When sperm met egg, something didn't connect properly, and the embryo grew until that thing was needed and it was not there and the embryo faded.  Now, if you are miscarrying, all the lying down and drinking water in the world won't make it stop, nor can a doctor.  An embryo that has stopped growing is not going to be something that any medical try can fix.  But if you are NOT miscarrying and it is just some bleeding, you can help that by the lying down and the hydration.

If you can stand to, save the tissue that came out if that is what it was, in a baggie.  Should you need to see the doctor, it can be sent to the lab.

But in the meantime, bedrest and hydration.  You won't save a pregnancy determined to go, but if it's not determined to go you can calm your uterus this way.

ps -- Don't go to the hospital unless you are bleeding a lot, again like a cereal-bowl-full at a time.  Call your doctor's night line if this is so for advice.

How far along are you? Honestly at the sign of any bleeding I would go to the hospital. At 8 weeks I had bleeding but it was just implantation bleeding I'm 37 weeks now and baby is fine
