Blood HcG question

5n1
I went to the dr. yesterday and they did a urine preg. test, which was too diluted, so it read inconclusive, and then they did a blood test(just the simple yes/no one) well that one came back and said HcG under 25 mIU/cc negative.
so then they had me see the dr. again today and she said that i have all the signs and symptoms and not to mention i am 4 days late for AF. she said that i could come back in 2-3 days for another blood test, but if i could hold off a week that would be great, so i decided that i would wait until next wednesday. But if it was negative why would she need to redo it?
also i had my last cycle 7/11/09-7/1509 and i believe i ovulated around the last 2 days of july or first 2 of august if that helps.
could it just be too early to tell on blood possibly?
thank you for your time

i go in for blood tests tomorrow... my cycle is approx. 38 days. i'm in the military and was on leave with my husband during that time... now 51 days later. no cycle and no positive test. so they want to do blood work. thanks for the explaination of how it works! makes me feel better to know that they can possibly detect it. i'd be about a month if i am.....

Hmmm - - anything over 5 could indicate pregnancy.  Maybe they only look at over 25, because most tests don't register until it hits that point, but it's possible to be so early that you are between 5-25, therefore, they want you to come back for a retest.

your welcome  our machines  consider  anything  about  a certain  number to be  post and they can  detect  down to about .5 HCG  level  so they are  very senstive  i would just  wait it out and  go back to the  doctor  for the  recheck on the  HCG . If  it is positve  it   should double every  24-48 hours  good luck

hey....sometimes when its an EARLY EARLY pregnancy even a blood test may not be able to pick up on it because your body is not producing enough of the levels yet.  You said that the doctor said u had all the symptoms....so maybe he wants to be sure that are are or are not preggo! Waiting that week...if u are infact preggo ur levels should sky rocket from where they are now!

Good luck and i hope you get the answer you want!
