Im a little confussed. I am about 8.5 weeks right now and the doctor sent be for a Pannel of blood test yesterday. Had about 10 viles of blood taken which I gather is normal the first time. They also had be do an hour blood glucose test done which I thought was done later in pregnancy. So today I had to go for a 3 hr test sinces yesterday my number was 141 and they wanted me to be under 135. Anyone that can shed some light on this would be wonderful.

a blood glucose test is normal when you first see the doctor around 8 to 10 weeks if your doctor thinks you have a risk factors for gestational diabetes such as being overweight. I am overweight and the doctor does 1 for me at 8 weeks and then again later on at the normal time. also your number could have been high if you didn't fast the night before.

I had a psycal at my primary at the end of Oct before I got pregnant and they did a full Pannel which includes your sugar level and the one test that shows your average sugar level which is all in normal range. So I don't know. This doctor also wanted to send me for a Eco, EKG and sleep study which I am def not doing unless my other dr says so

I just did my first glucose test for this pregnancy and I am 27 weeks, so yay, you had yours done really early. But I would agree with the above that if you have a history that could be the reason it was done?

Hi ladies thanks for your input. This is my first pregnancy. I went for my first appointment with the nurse on Wednesday and this coming Tuesday is my ultra sound and meet with the doctor. This is not my normal OBGYN I had to temporarily switch due to my insurance but hopeing to have new insurance in feb and I can go back to my OBGYN especially now because this seems weird.  When I met with the nurse she have me 2 pages full of blood test I had to get and one of them was the 1 hr glucose which I didn't realize until I got to the hospital to do the test.

Well i wouldnt run and change Drs right away, the reason i asked if you had already had previous bloodwork done was because if you had they might have already checked what your sugar was at the time and if you have had your urine checked it may have already shown a amall amount of sugar, or just that he may be considering you high risk for it from possible family hystory, weight, ect.
If the result are normal i would assume you would still have the routine 24-28 week glucose check done again...
Drs dont just do this for fun, its usually with their clients best interest for their safety... so there must be something that flagged him to test earlier... which for certain reasons does happen...talk to him and ask questions...

Im not sure if this is ur first child but if it isnt and u have a history of complications.  But they will do one early. Based on how mucg weight u have gained. Symptoms u may have told him about that may have worried him.   141 isnt really high.  140 is usually the cut off.
