Bloody show vs mucus plug

I started losing my plug a few days ago.. Now today i lost a huge amount of mucus with a little red and pink blood. Never had a bloody show before just some mucus w prior pregnancies and ive never bled with any cervical exams even a membrabe sweep. She did check me yesterday but she didnt do a sweep bc his head wasnt close enough for one. So is there a diff w mucus alone and mucus w blood as far as labor nearing?

That's good news....the bloody show is another sign of your cervix stretching out. Get bouncing on a yoga ball to get your baby down there!! Or walking!

I knew I was closer to delivery when I had the 'bloody show'. I had mucus with streaks of red or pink in it. And it would happen several times. My midwife said that is an indication that things are starting. You are so close!

For me when mine happened I went to the bathroom and there was this brown/red discharge and tons of it. I'd never had any form of spotting or bleeding no matter what had happened in my pregnancy so I knew that it was my show and I knew she was coming that night. The plug is supposed to just look like mucous more or less.
