Did you tell people you were pregnant right away or did you wait until after the first 12 weeks? With my first I didnt tell people for like 5 months (Im really small and it wasnt noticeable) because I was scared of having a miscarriage. This time I havent decided when I want to tell people.
I wanted to wait to tell, since I had a slightly higher percentage for miscarriage, but I work in a nuclear power plant, so I declared my pregnancy there as soon as I got the results. I told very few people there, but it was spread very quickly because the people I work with had to know my radiological restrictions. And when one of my coworkers who is friends with my uncle congratulated me, I knew I had to tell family before they found out through someone else. So I ended up telling around 6 weeks. Luckily, I've kept the pregnancy and am at 31 weeks now.
With my son we told our immediate family right away and told friends as we saw them in person. It was so exciting and fun to share!
I recently was pregnant again and only told my immediate family. We miscarried and I was kind of glad we had not shared it with a lot of folks.
It really is a personal decision. For me, it was nice that somebody knew but not the whole world when we miscarried. I can't imagine not having anyone to talk too...especially other women that have 'been there'.
Best wishes to you on a happy and healthy pregnancy!
In my last pregnancy we told some ppl around 5 weeks but I had a misscarriage @ 8 nd everyone in my family knew witout me tellin them. It was hard to deal wit. I am now pregnant nd still haven't told anybody. I want to wait around 12 weeks just in case. I pray everything goes well wit this one.
We told our immediate families at 7 weeks after I had an u/s. The dr said we could tell everyone then if we wanted to, he said the u/s and tests that he gave me were great so he said it would be the same as waiting the 2months. But we decided that we would tell the rest of the of friends after 12wks. My one friend told people at 12wks and then at her 14wk u/s they said something was wrong and that she had to terminate the pregnancy and rushed her into surgery. That was just before we had found out I was pregnant and for sure enough to freak me out so we didnt tell anyone else. So, I had when I had my 12wk u/s and that night we posted it on Facebook for all our friends to see and called the others.
