Breast Tenderness..sorry if TMI

Hello!

New to MedHelp and not quite sure how all of this works...yet! :o)

My hubby and I decided to start TTC this summer. I went off the pill back in June, but my regular cycle had yet to return until last night...I think.

Prior to going on the pill, my only PMS symptoms would be the feeling of being fat (oh joy!) and simultaneous food cravings (chocolate, salt, fatty foods). My periods were irregular and sometimes moderate to heavy.

I went on the pill about 4 years ago and my periods were like clockwork (awesome!) with the same PMS symptoms. While on the pill, my periods would last no more than 5 days and were regular flow (rarely even moderate).

Fast forward to October. Like I said, my regular cycle has been MIA and all of a sudden I'm experiencing intense tenderness in my breasts and my nipples are hard as rocks all day long, every day...for a week and a half solid! Two days ago my nipples started to soften, but the extreme tenderness remained. Last night, I experienced spotting followed by spotting to light flow today. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I was SO EXCITED that my period has returned! lol

Then my husband comments this morning that my breasts seem much larger than normal. I got to thinking about it and realized I've NEVER experienced any breast tenderness when my period has come, and my nipples are never rock hard for days on end. And when I started googling around tonight, my searches showed breast tenderness as an early sign of pregnancy and that some women "know for sure" based on this fact alone... ?

So...my question is, does anyone experience these symptoms around their period? Or, has anyone experienced this early on in their pregnancy? I'm starting to wonder if a trip to the store for an HPT is in order!

Thanks all! :o)

I just thought I would add that I also experience breast tenderness with ovulation but that when I got pregnant this time, I knew it was different than my typical tww tenderness. It can be an early symptom as long as you know your body - last time (second time 'round), I never realized this since we had a quick trip to pregnancy but it was very marked this time!

Tested negative this morning. It now appears I've been blessed by AF and all the joys that come with. How weird that I'm now experiencing PMS symptoms I never experienced before or while taking BC/the pill.

Glad that AF has returned though...hoping for a BFP soon!! Thanks for your help, ladies! :o)

My period has always been normal but for 4 months I had nothing and then I woke up on August 4th spotted for 2 hours and turns out it was enough to get me pregnant, I'm due in May. The only symptoms I had was breast tenderness and on the morning I got the test I vomited once.

with my first pregnancy I thought my boobs were about to explode ! and they had gotten gynormous :) What is your blood loss like at the moment, some women who experience a period like bleed at the time their periods are due are actually pregnant and they have this bleed due to the fact that they dont have enough hcg in their system to stopa small bleed but enough to keep the pregnanvy going. They always say the bleed is lighter and or shorter than their normal periods, but think its just an unusual one. I would see how this bleeding goes it may very well turn into a normal period for you, then you can plab for next month, alot of the ladys on this site use ovulation sticks to help them fall pregnant. If it stops go get a test and use first morning urine, first response is a good brand, but dont get the digital as they are not as sensitive as the dye ones :) good luck
