Breasts really hurt at 6 weeks....

Hey! I have not been able to even touch my breasts for about 5 days they hurts so bad. I am 6 weeks pregnant, and they have gotten bigger but they are sooooooo tender! It also feels like the muscles between my beasts and my shoulders have been pulled...is this normal? I have been pregnant before but i dont remember any of this! Help!

Hmmm i am going to try that and i will let you know, i think thats one of my worst fears is having droopers....it just doesnt sound like fun....so i am going to give that a try...am i allowed to switch topics on here...i have a question..i went to get my 1st ultrasound done this afternoon and she said that i am 5 weeks 4 days...and there is only a yolk sac, which she says is fine, there should be heart beat by saturday, but the thing that bothered me is that she said my gestational sac is not round, like something is protruding into it, like a fibroid or something...is that a really bad thing or is that something my body can get over...am i going to lose this baby cause my g/s is not totally round...its more like peanut shaped. I am a little worried...

You know whats funny though, is even after the baby is born, and you are done nursing, try going without an underwire for a few months and see if it helps to "perk" things up a bit. The girl at Motherhood told me that its been proven that women that dont wear underwires, are perkier than women that do. Aparently it is because too much support makes your body depend on it.

True story!!! i am glad that you told me about it...my mother in law is doing so much maternity shopping for me from Iowa..im in Arizona...and she asked what i wanted yesterday so i told her.."sleep bra in black and white!" and so i should be getting it soon!!! I have been putting Johnson's soothing naturals on my breasts recently and its been working, plus it smells good...not too strong but natural. It feels nice, sometimes moisture is the key with them....So i agree with you totally, i hate underwires!!! never again!!! i wish that for the rest of my life i can go without them, lord knows thats pretty much impossible but i am gonna try!

You're welcome. Any time I can help I enjoy doing so. I know I wore one of mine today because my other bra i bought last month (because of the size change) is getting too tight already, and it feels nice to not have a wire squeazing under things. I loved my maternity bra too when I had my first two girls. IT was so comfortable. I wore it as long as I could even after I was done nursing. I try not to sleep in anything either, but like you said, we wont have a choice soon. :-)

I always forget how comfy ugly maternity bras are.....but i will go get one of those...i try to not sleep in a bra cause i makes me sick but i am sure one of these days it wont be a choice anymore...lol..thank you for the info though, it will go to good use with me...I am glad the pain coming and going doesnt mean anything bad, that would really scare me.

No, sometimes it can just be more painful than other days. Sometimes your bra can be a cause of more or less pain. I know the gal at the MotherHood store here, taught me something about wearing underwires. Aparently you arent supposed to wear a bra for more than like 16 hours a day or something like that. She also said that women that wear more natural bras intead of underwires keep "perkier" breasts than those that wear wires. She sold me on these "sleep bras" that they have at Motherhood. THey are so comfortable and still supportive enough to wear during the day and while sleeping. Something like that may help you some too. Give it a shot. They are also great for later in the pregnancy and for nursing for holding the nursing pads and being accessible for baby. :-)

Hey! Thanks..if i find anything i will post it on here, i know that its pretty much a mystery to most of us...if the pain goes away for a few days does that mean something bad?

It definitely gets painful. For the most part you will just have to ride it out. It will calm down some once you get into your second trimester. It will be mostly just sensitivity around your nipples. Good luck to you.If you find something that does help be sure to post it so all the other mommies as far along as you can try to be more comfy. :-)

Thank you so much for your responses! I am just going crazy they hurt so bad...i have been putting lotion on them but it only seems to be helpful sometimes...i think i might try cool wash cloths on them soon to see if that helps..its miserable! LOL!!! i know about the boyfriend thing, he is driving me crazy, taps on them and then i wanna kick him in the you know what! :) Lucky for me only 6 or 7 weeks left of this misery (i hope.). Its been crazy...is there any special lotions or creams that work better on sore nipples than just baby lotion?

Yep, NORMAL! I had that and it just went away in the last month, altho they're tender off and on, but since I hit about 12weeks it's gone away mostly, and I know the baby is healthy. I'm 16w tomorrow, so it didn't really freak me out, esp. when I felt the baby move yesterday and heard the heartbeat about 2 weeks ago.

Don't freak out if the pain goes away for a day or two, it'll comeback and that happens alot esp during that first 12weeks.

GOOD LUCK and CONGRATS!

That's completely normal.
I had the SAME problem when I first found out I was pregnant.
My fiancee, the ignorant ******* he can be sometimes, thought it was funny when we'd play around and he'd tap them slightly and I'd get all made and beat his *** for it.
lolol.
It sucks, and thankfully now that I'm into my second trimester, they don't really hurt so bad, it's mostly just my nipples that are still a bit sore.

It'll get better as time goes... but I heard once you start preparing to lacktate or however you spell it, it gets bad all over again.
SOOOOO not looking forward to THAT. lolol

SOunds completely normal. The wonders of pregnancy. Soon you will start to feel the pains and cramps in your lower abdomen that feels like something is pulling "down there". That is your uterus stretching to make room for the baby and all the baby stuff. Lol!! Dont be alarmed when you start feeling that. You may have some spotting too. As long as you dont start bleeding heavy like a period or cramping really reallly bad, then you are most likely fine. Just make sure you call your doc if you question anything too much! Its always better to be safe than not check at all.
