Thank you ladies! I really appreciate the help! I've been craving it for about a week and after reading a lot on it I FINALLY had some for dinner.:)
As long as you're getting your California rolls from a reputable source and not someplace where they've been potentially sitting out for a while (like a buffet) its totally fine.
Have one for me while you're at it! I can't have rice anymore because of dietary issues.
I read that fresh water fish is ok to eat while pregnant, and to avoid high mercury fish and uncooked fish.
California rolls are fine, the crab is cooked. You just have to avoid uncooked sushi and fish when preggo.
I LOVE sushi! But I don't eat any raw fish sushi at all. I'm not a big fan of fish. I eat shrimp sushi or crab. As long as it is cooked it is fine is what I've read and I've eaten sushi while pregnant with my last 3 pregnancies with no problems. I also will look at all ingredients, let the chef or waitstaff know I'm pregnant and substitute any ingredients I can't have with things that I can or just take it out altogether. Hope this helps a little. :)
Just like the other comment says, as long as it's cooked fish, it should be fine. There are so fish and other meats from the sea you need to avoid (the ones thet are high in mercury), but as long as they don't fall into that category, you will be fine and it won't harm the baby. It's actually really good for you to eat fish while pregnant too.
I don't know for sure but I think as long as it's cooked it's fine. I eat the vegetarian rolls because I'm a Japanese food junkie lol.
