Iv tought as well and manage and I havnt heard heard that since iv been doing hair.. My dr says its just fine to preform the services too as long as the smell doesnt bother me.. I know it was a big no back in the day when perms were so harsh but our perm company has cleared it as well when I called the manufacturer.. But as I said thats only what I know and what my dr has told me so obviously all drs are different and each should listen to their own.
Interesting. I was taught different in school and told by my doc that , he doesn't even want me to do perms or relaxers on clients while I'm pregnant either. Ill stick with what I was taught I'd rather be safe then sorry
Actually you can perm and relax while pregnant as well just note because of hormones ect results are not usually guarenteed with those services
I'm a cosmetologist you can its not harmful to you or the baby, your hair just might react different then before because the hormones have altered your hair but just make sure where ever you go your in a well ventilated area but one thing you do not want to do is get a perm or a relaxer but color and decolorizer is fine
It's definitely ok, just don't be surprised if it turns put different from what you expected. When I was pregnant with my daughter, I tried to use the same due I had been using for months, and my hair ended up with a distinctive purple tint!
I bleached my whole head..i was 24 weeks though..i went from black to blonde:) it took them 4 times to get all the box color out. But i am ok so is my little man.
Most salons use products that are safer than you'd think. Even Saturdays and places like that.
Its just fine to do so im a hairstylist and pregnant.. Like beanlee said just note that sometimes all the hormones in us preggos hair it may pull warmer than youd like the only thing that could possibly be harmfull is the smell may make you sick or if you are putting bleach directly on your scalp just know that being pregnant your skin may be more sensative that usual and you DO NOT want to keep it on I if your scalp starts burning if you dont want to take those risks highlighting does not touch your scalp at all.
And hormones can change the way your hair reacts too, just a heads up!
I've been highlighting my hair since 9 weeks or so. Highlights don't actually touch scalp so they are fine. You can call your salon and ask if they have a safer all over dye to use while pregnant. I believe its ammonia free.
my doctor told me no to any type of hair dye
