Cervix question 33 wks.

Maybe tmi for some but.. My inner vagina felt a little irritated today but i bd twice yesterday but i decided to make sure there wasnt anything abnormal on the vagina wall i felt up there not meaning to touch anything but the wall anyways.. I very easily touch my cervix which at first i didnt realize i was touching it bc it was so soft like lip soft only way i realized it was my cervix is i felt a little more bc i thiught my wall was just swollen and my middle finger went into a hole in my cervix which i assume is dialation. Im not super familuar w my cervix only time ive felt it before it was hard and high. So now im curious is this normal? I know baby is head down and while trick or treating w my kids yesterday i kept gettin a stabby electro shock feeling there but utd come n go quickly. Soo what do you ladies think? Is it supposed to feellike that? Ps as i always do i thoroughly washed my hands before putting them near my vagina.

your vagina is going to start getting a bit swollen and irritated, mostly because of the increased amount of fluids and blood in your body, its normal to be very sensitive and maybe hurt down there weeks before your due date.

The more pregnancies you have, the better chance you have of dilating sooner.. When I was pregnant with my last one I started dilating at 27 weeks.. I was like 3 cm up until I was about 37..... Then I shot up to 4 and stayed there.....It's normal...  As long as your hands are clean before you insert * which obivoulsy they are you don't want to infect anything lol* then it's ok.. It's actaully a good idea to become familiar with the feel of your cervix ...... I did with all my pregnancies... :D

Some women dilate a little early. It doesn't mean anything each time. You can stay dilated for weeks before labour. It's also possible to never progress. You should refrain from touching anywhere inside you though. If you're unfamiliar you don't really know what you're touching and you can also induce bacteria and infection into there. This is another reason doctors only do a few exams while pregnant.

From your description, it sounds to me that your cervix is starting to soften, thin and dialate. (I used to be an OB nurse!)  As you progress your cervix will become paper thin (thickness) and open to 10 centimeters.  If it felt like "hole"  and you were able to insert your fingertip, I am guessing that you are 1-2cm dialated.  The mucous you pulled out could be your mucous plug? Good luck and watch for symptoms of labor!!!
