Cherry Coke

Okay this is the deal, about 2 weeks ago me and hubby went to dinner and  had a craving for a cherry coke.  It was so good.  but then I didnt drink it again.  But the last 2 days have been crazy like though this pregnancy I havnt really craved anything.  But omg do i want nothing but cherry coke. its soooo good. i didnt even drink it before I got pregnant.  Its so weird.  I cant not drink it or I feel like cryin seriously.  What worries me is the cafeine. So how bad is it really?

Caffeine in moderation is ok during pregnancy.  I've drank moderate amounts of caffiene during ALL of my pregnancies.  I am a big caffiene/soda junky but I limit myself to no more than 2 - 20 oz size caffeinated sodas per day.  As long as you aren't chugging 2 liters at a time, i think you will be perfectly fine to indulge in your craving.  Don't deny yourself completely or it just makes it worse :)

Oh before i got pregnant i was a big regular Coke fan...  And thats what hubby drinks to, theres times when before I could get myself to have  a soda, I would take a lil sip off his and die lol... I really love regualr coke, like i said before i never even drank cherry coke before I was pregnant.. But two weeks ago it took over me.. and id have to agree its only as good when I pour it from a bottle into a large cup of ice and drink it with a straw.. store clerks look atme funny cause i go into the store just to get cups of ice.. lol

I'm a coca-cola girl too...(classic, though). I have to say for me it's the bottles, not the cans. They're just so CRISP! But right now all I want is ice...lol. Yes i'm slightly anemic.

I don't know how much caffeine is coffee, but my ob told me that 2 cups of coffee a day was fine and wouldn't hurt a fetus.  I'm sure the coffee has way more caffeine than a cherry coke lol - I think you and your baby will be just fine :)

They say 300 mg a day is safe. I cut caffeine out for the first trimester and now I drink a can of Mt Dew a day and sometimes I have one or two cokes also.  I wouldn't worry about it.

I am going to have to agree with the other ladies. I love Cherry Coke (but I have cut out all caffeine this time around) and when I was about 37 weeks with my last son I used to drink it all of the time. He was born perfectly healthy and had no complications. I would say don't go too overboard but feel free to drink it. I think that it should be fine and the 300 mg per DAY so if you had it yesterday you can have it today too. You are so close to the end, don't deny yourself =)

Well the can of it that has 35 mg, would be 12 oz. So in a 20oz bottle would be about 58.33 mg of caffeine. So 2 and a half would be 145.825 mg (if my calculations are right haha). So I think your still safe. And when I looked it up again, I think jroberston20 was right, it it said to increase the chance of miscarriage, and again, you are 37 weeks, already full term!

I think caffeine intake just increases your chances of miscarriage and you are 37 weeks so I think you are fine.  The baby may get a little caffeine buzz in there and you may feel a little crampy because it can cause some slight contractions but I really don't think you have anything to worry about.  Just don't get too crazy.

Well I looked it up and it said that in one can of cherry coke there is 35 milligrams of caffeine. So I guess it depends on how much caffeine you get from other things throughout the day. I'm pretty sure up to 200 mg (or 300, I can't remember) is considered safe. So if your really craving it, then I would drink a can :)
