Conception (?)

I am very confused on the matter. If I had sex on November 6th, would my conception date had been around the 11th? Or does it occur instantly? Let's say I were to calculate my due date by the date of intercourse, would that be faulty?

Conception only happens at the time of ovulation. Sperm can live up to 5 days inside a woman, so if you calculate your due date by the date you had intercourse you could be off by as much as 5 days.

So, if you had sex on Nov 6 you could have conceived any time between then and Nov 11. It just depends on when you ovulated.

Ps. I know it is more accurate to calculate by LMP but that means I would have conceived only days before my next period. And also, I'm speaking hypothetically. It just wouldn't add up.
