Contractions and Question about increasing them?

First off - I was supposed to see my midwife yesterday - but I had to reschedule the appt, b/c she was in delivery all morning and was 3 hours behind schedule and still hadn't made into the office when I was there at 11:30 - so I didn't get a check up (39 weeks 5 days) - I am not worried about it though - just inconvienced.

Last night I started having somewhat moderate contractions (they woke me up) at about 1:00 AM and the stayed pretty consistent (every 8-15 minutes) until now (12:30 pm) - I am kind of frustrated. They were pretty strong - They took my breath away.  I thought this was the real deal - and now they are tapering off - I am so aggrivated.

Is there anyway I can keep them going myself (LOL).  I know baby will come when he is ready, but I think he is so ready!   I guess I was wondering if I can increase frequency/intensity of contractions through walking/sex/etc.  Like inducing labor?

Yep, Raspberry Leaf Tea is a common recommendation by midwives.  But you have to ge the natural stuff not the flavored kind.  It must do something because when I was getting induced they made me stop taking it because they said they wouldn't know which contractions were caused by the tea and which were caused by the pitocin. Otherwise keep moving! And enjoy your husband!  Both good suggestions!! :-)

Yes walking and sex should help keep them going!!!  And it you go at a slightly faster then normal walking pace it'll get your heartbeat going and usually the contractions will get stronger!!

You can try some tea, I can't remember the name if it, maybe have to be googled.  I know rosa tried it last week.
