I AM HAVING VERY BAD LOWER ABDOMINAL CRAMPING. IT FEELS LIKE A BAD PERIOD BUT I AM BETWEEN 8-9 WEEKS PREGNANT. IS THIS NORMAL? I HAVE CALLED MY OB S ANSWERING SERVICE BUT SHE HASNT CALLED ME BACK. ANY IDEAS ON WHAT TO DO OR WHAT COULD BE CAUSING THIS PAIN??

I had cramping in the first trimester, it could just be your uterus expanding, but if you start to have bleeding I'd go to the doctor immediately.

Cramping is a normal pregnancy symptom. If there is no bleeding accompanying it, I would not worry about it.
