Day 39 of my cycle and still no perid...what should I do?

Hello everyone, to summarize - I'm 30 and my last period started on Nov. 15.
I had protected sex (condoms) on Nov. 20 and Dec. 8 (so on the 6th and the 24th day of my cycle).
My cycles are in average around 27 days long, but my period often comes 2-3 days before or after day 27.
My shortest cycles this year were 25 days and my longest (in Sept.) was 31 days long.
I took my first HPT on day 30 of my cycle and it was NEGATIVE.
I took another HPT on day 34 of my cycle and it was NEGATIVE.
I took a blood test (quantitative) on day 36 of my cycle and it was NEGATIVE.
I have 2 concerns:
1) that I might have taken the blood test too early
2) given that I am not pregnant, today is day 39 of my cycle and there are still no signs or symptoms that my period is going to show up. What do you think I should do? How long should I wait till I take any sort of action (e.g. call the gynecologist!)?
I was in panic till I took the blood test, but at this point I am kind of lost...not sure what's going on exactly.
Thank you for all your help!

The blood test wasn't too early. The particular one you had measures and reads the exact level of hCG in your body. This can detect pregnancy from the moment implantation occurs. Based on the test, I would say that it's correct and you're not pregnant.

There are a few different things that could be wrong. One would be that you ovulated late, and in turn will have a late cycle. Ovulations occurs roughly 14 days before a females menstrual cycle is due to start, and is the reason you have one. The other is that you didn't ovulate at all, therefor you will not have a cycle. For now, wait to see if you get your next one when it's due. If you do not, make an appointment with your doctor and have testing done. They can make sure your hormone levels are where they should be, and if there is anything else that can cause it.
