Deli meat?

Is it true that deli meat isn't good for pregnant women? I've heard conflicted stories, haven't had a chance to ask my doctor, going to see him Tuesday so I will ask then.

I was told by the nutrittitionist at my health department to heat up all deli meats and hot dogs till they are steaming in case of listeria.

Buut I hate deli meat heated.
Last night a posted about really wanting a turkey and cheese sandwhich!!
And the ladies that answered all eat it at least occasionally without heating,
And their babies and babies to be are fine!

So for lunch today I had my sandwhich and my baby girl is rolling around like normal.

They say if your going to eat it then it should be warmed up and eaten warm or hot but I have had it cold a couple times and me and baby are fine (30+5) it's just the risk of salmonella I think

I haven't heard anything about it being bad I eat it once in a while though and my babies fine. But I'll have to look into that and find out if its okay.

I think the risk of contracting listeria from deli meats is low if the meat is properly stored. I wouldn't think having a sandwich once in awhile would hurt the baby.
