oh i didnt think they could give me the gas when i was pregnant, that was one of my fears.
i just had all 4 wisdom teeth out last thursday. it was not as bad as i thought but still the recovery has been rough. i still have the numb novacaine feeling in the right side of my face, which is annoying and not sure quite yet when the feeling is going to come back. you can use the laughing gas, which will make things a little but fluffy as i call it. i was knocked out completely cuz i am a baby when it comes to these things, but the after pain was not as bad as people make it out to be.
well i went to my appointment and i had to use the bathroom first, i was 5 minutes late and they told me i had been bumped from my appointment! now im scheduled back on the same day as my 20 week ultrasound. its gonna be a very long day, but it worked out allright cause i had an infection in my gum so they wouldnt have been able to pull anyway... but i could really use someoen whos been through the awake tooth pulling procedure to tell me what its like? what happens? so im prepared and not so damn nervous!
im only 5 and half months along but will be having dental work through my pregnancy till my mouth is cavity free, fillings caps, partials you name it i need it sooo.. me and the dentist should be real good friends by the end of this lol!
I have to get dental work done also. I am getting a root cananl soon. How far aong are you?
Don't worry, make sure they use pain meds without Epinepherine. or ask if they do Twilight sleep. (your awake but don't remember it or feel anything)
I haven't had my teeth extracted before when I was awake, but I did have a cap put on, it wasnt so bad.
What they will do before pulling your tooth is a NERVE block where they basically knock out feeling in half of your mouth with 1 or 2 good shots. those work AWESOMELY! thats what I have when I got my Root canal's done on my two front teeth (and **** like that KILLS me)
