Diet pills and false positives

Thanks everyone for your advice! I didn't know I was preg. when I started taking the diet pills, but trust me I have stopped! I confirmed my pregnancy yesterday afternoon. :) I'm so excited

Just quick advice~ Do NOT take any sort of diet pills while your pregnant. They have caffeine which cause reduced appetite which in return could cause you to consume less of the nutrients you need even IF you are taking prenatals. THAT could adversly affect the baby.  that's not even mentioning all the wierd herbs and supplaments they contain.

No they cannot cause a false positive...but stop taking any diet pills immediately until you get your pregnancy confirmed with a blood test.  There is little research on health problems that they could cause you never mind an unborn baby.  Call your doctor for a blood test etc.  Good luck!

No - diet pills do not contain HCG.

It was Slim Quick, I've researched what I could on the internet, but am coming up empty  handed. I only took them like 2 days, but like 2 weeks ago I was taking Xendarine. Something like that. and I took that for about 6 days. I have taken 2 tests today, both digital read out saying positives.

Are they water pills?  Are you still taking them? I only ask because I was on spironolactone (a diuretic) till 4 days ago.  I took a few tests that were negative and then read that diuretic use can cause a false low hCG level in urine.  I panicked and requested a blood test from my doctor, but I also called Church & Dwight (makers of First Response) this morning and they checked the name of what I was taking against a list they have and said it should not have affected the result I got.
