Do I count from the first day of LMP even if period was off?

I posted a Q earlier and now am wondering as I am trying to make a decision on weather or not I could possibly be pregnant. I began my LMP on 08/06/2010. It lasted for about 2 weeks though being somewhere between a spotting and light bleeding. OB said it was due to a hormonial imbalance becuase in July I had missed a period due to stress of a new job. Mind you that was the first period I have ever missed in a month. I have had a period EVERY month since the 6th grade.

Anyway, it's been 38 days since first day of LMP, do I still count it from the first day of LMP even though it lasted nearly 2 weeks? So is 38 days correct?

yes you still start counting the first day of your cycle no matter how long you last so if you started on 8-6 then that counts as day one
