Doctor does not seem to care!!

Ok so I spent all weekend in bed hurting and spotting, not bad but have never had any bleeding with this pregnancy yet. Called my doctor on Friday and over the phone the doctor tried to diagnose me with a yeast infection. I have had nothing but problems with this pregnancy since I found out I was preg. I cramped from Wed. until Sunday, my doctor never wanted me to come into the office but told me if I was having a miscarriage then there would be nothing they could do and I should just stay at home. I am concerned now because I have had sever nausea and vomiting for 3 months (hyperemesis gravidarum) and now all symptoms of pregnancy have gone away (3 days) I am still very sore in my pelvic area and in my lower back. Could I just be worrying too much. I have had a hard time accepting that everything is ok, really just need the input. Thank you

i took zofran and phenergan while pregnant, but never together...if you're worried, call your pharmacist, they usually know better than the drs

OK this is what my doc has me on medication wise for nausea and vomiting, Zofran, phenergan, and reglan, I take 4 mg of zofran, up to 50 mg of phenergan, and 25 mg of reglan . I have been told that I can take all 3 at once but I am uncertain of the risk to my baby and myself. All of this is to control my nausea and vomiting, has anyone else been given this much and told to take it at one time? Just curious.

Hon, you need to find a new Dr.  While it is true that at this point if there is going to be a miscarriage there is nothing that can be done, there is no reason you should have to sit around wondering what is going on and if your baby is ok.  I had pretty bad cramping at 10 weeks and I was brought right in for an U/S, even though I had just had one at 8 weeks for viability. The Dr. and nurse both told me there is never any reason for a pregnant woman to suffer in silence, if there is a way to provide reassurance that everything is ok.  And if things aren't ok, at least to know and prepare as well as possible then to spend the days being stressed not knowing.
I don't know what the threshold is for weight loss before Dr.s will admit you for treatment, but I know that I lost 12 pounds in my first trimester, and the Dr. told me it's not necessarily the amount of weight lost, it's how much can I actually keep down when eating and drinking.  If I had 2 successive days of vomiting and diahrrea, or even just one day, but felt weakness and dizziness I was to call immediately.
Go to the ER if you are really worried, like the other ladies said.  And start looking around for a new Dr., who is concerned about your emotional health as well as your physical health, and is willing to provide the care you need to feel comfortable with the pregnancy!

i agree....get it checked out at the ER. they HAVE to treat you, and it may be nothing but you should at least get some fluids like justice said. I lost almost 30 lbs in my first trimester (but i was overweight to begin with) and had severe lower back pain and nausea the whole time, as well as a small bit of blood when i wiped...turned out to be kidney stones. but my baby came out fine, healthy, and full term, so it may be nothing...just go get it checked out. your doctor should show more care.

Wow, Im sorry your feeling so bad! and it does seem like your Dr is VERY uncaring.... to me the loss of 23lbs in a month would be very concerning and now that your spotting.... I am always the the one to say better safe than sorry....if your doc wont see you then I would make a trip the the ER.... If anything they can get you some fluids (we dont want you to dehydrate from the vomiting) and check on your little one! Good luck! Hope you feel better

Thank you this is my third pregnancy and I know they r all different but something just keeps telling me something is not right. I would love another baby but I want us both to be healthy. It seems that my doc would be concerned being that I have lost 23 lbs over that past month and I am only 12 weeks pregnant, but they don't seem to care if I call they just tell me to either stay at home or to go to the ER, this just does not seem right.

well everybody is different bt i no some symptoms only last some of the preg bt it really depends on person some people have absolutly no symptoms and some have them the whole time bt from what it sounds like you need to find a different doc she dosnt seem to b worried about you and your babies health i would b worried bc iv never been preg b4 im jus now tryin bt jus wait an some others will give you give you wat they think these guys are really great adn alot of help and suppost bt i would strongly suggest to find a diff doc. im a medic and i think you need a doc that will monitor you more closely adn give you support and fully explain everything you have any questions about adn if you r having/ or had a misscarriage you will need to see a doc to figure out y and they would want the tissue that comes out when a baby is lost so im thinkin you didnt bt you need to see a doc for sure to know whats goin on.
