well arent you just waaaaaay to well-informed lol
man i thought it had something to do with the moon, but i still say it's a conspiracy!!!!!
HEY LADIES!! I found this insert from an article about why women may experience labor during a full moon.
The theory is that the moon's gravitational pull effects the amniotic fluid in much the same way as it effects the water in the sea, rivers and even the water that's otherwise found in our bodies.
As a woman's body prepares for natural childbirth, the amniotic sac becomes distended so the point where it will easily burst if put under pressure. Under normal circumstances, the pressure of labor contractions bursts the sac. During a full moon, the pressure caused by the moon's effect on the water inside the sac can cause the same things to happen, but without the accompanying contractions.
When this happens, natural childbirth doesn't always move forward and with no other signs of labor present, the obstetrician may decide to induce the birth. During my own study of this phenomenon I found that of 8 women whose births started with the water breaking at full moon, 5 of them had no accompanying contractions.
oh my goodness I hope so! I'm 39 weeks and I'm SO ready. Monday would be perfect! hahaha
I went into labor with all 3 of my kids on a full moons... Go figure....*LOL* And 33 week's is not too soon to have your baby... His/her lungs are mature by then...... Good luck!
I went into labor at 38 weeks and it was the day before the full moon. Weird.
they say pregnancy truly lasts 9 calender months and 10 lunar months, could it be possible that we're all being duped and the tests are rigged and you only get pregnant on a new moon and deliver on a full moon 10 lunar months later???!!!
lol i just saw the moons when i am due, and the new moon is late september, but the full moon is october 15th or 19th(the page kept tryin to go back to the homepage so i couldnt get a quick enough peek!)
maybe it's a conspiracy lol...........but with me, i always get *in the mood* around a full moon, so i have no idea what it is lol....but i've heard that alot and my mom says me and my sister were both full moon babies(and we're both girls imagine that lol)
Yes, a lot of women give birth during the full moon. It's not really a superstition. There is an actual scientific reason that it happens but I don't remember off the top of my head. I worked at a hospital and we always had more mommas in the birthing center during full moon phase.
The nurses here all say the same thing in l&d!! My grandma also swears by it!! I never did pay any attention to it being a full moon or not when I had my kids!! Guess I should have. That is kinda neat!!
Well I can't remember for sure but my daughter I think
was born a day after full moon. Well I just want to have
my little man when he is ready.
the day before i went into labor was a fool moon and i was in the hospital with 6 girls that i had gone to school with and one of them is now married to hubbies cousin.....her lil girl was born 1 after my lil man......i had my lil man at exactly 38 weeks so you are really close and maybe you will go into labor then......your luteal phase during your cycle is based phases of the moon so it very well could be true!!!!!!
I totally think it has something to do with it cause all Dr's and nurses around here said the they have more women in delivery on a full moon than any other time
yeah i have heard that before.....when my mom had my lil sis there was a full moon and 11 other women were also in labor on that same day......most of them had to recovery in the same room as L&D and they also roomed 4 to a room in recovery, my mom was in a room with 3 others in recovery!
