Early pregnancy question

I was wondering if you could answer a question I had. My boyfriend and I have been sexually active but safe. We use a condom everytime, but the last week in november or first week in december, the condom broke and i took a plan b the next morning.  However, I started feeling sick, and my breasts started getting bigger.  My boyfriend and I were not smart, and proceeded to have unprotected sex 3 times on the 12th, 13th,and 14th during which he ejaculated inside me everytime. Now this last satday the 18th i had a small amount of brown discharge that stopped after that day. I have small cramping, like i would have with a period, but no lower back pain.  I am extremely exhausted, and throw up in my mouth after every time I eat. I feel tighter across my stomach, and my nipples are extremely sore and the glands around them are raised, as well as I have been having to use the bathroom more.  I have taken several hpts but they are all negative.  I was wondering if I could be pregnant, and if I am, does my having taken plan b risk the baby having defects? Also, my period is a day and a half late.  Thanks!!

To add to what Sunworshiper said as well, because it is such a large dose of hormones it can mimic or cause what women would call pregnancy symptoms. These can be cramping, spotting. (irregular cycle) breast tenderness, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain and fatigue. The best thing to do is test and go from there.

The plan B can really mess up your hormones and make you feel icky and it can mess up your cycles. I would suggest instead of using plan B to get on a form of birth control as condoms are only 79% effective if used correctly. You can't always tell when a condom has broke either so condoms are great to use WITH birth control but not as birth control. I would wait a few more days and test with first morning urine using a digital first response test and also make an appt with your gyno to discuss risks of the plan B and to plan to get a form of birth control. I hope you are feeling better soon. Remember Plan B is full of a huge amount of hormones it's like taking birth control pills but a whole handful at one time instead of just one a day so it is bound to give you a tummy ache and mess up AF

Hi Heidi, I would wait until you are at least 5 days late before testing again. There is a possibility that you are pregnant. I think the negative test is because it is too early. As for the plan B it may/may not harm the baby if you are pregnant but I would consult your OB if that is a concern for you. Matter of fact you may just want to make an appt with your OB. This way you can get the answer about the Plan B and you can also have him/her do a blood test. They are the most accurate. Keep us posted. Good Luck!!!:-)
